I have a spec clutch and aluminum flywheel ! They suck ! I am going back to stock flywheel and changing to an exedy clutch soon .
When i first put it in it was really really hard to step almost like something was wrong but when it warmed up it wa cool went great for about 4 months then the rataling started and the BS shifting .
I have no more than 10k miles on it and just decided to get rid of it before it ruined my trani because about 2 weeks ago it got really bad ! I thought maybe it was my clutch master cylinder so it was changed and then i ran the "clutch down time '' test wich tests for a faulty clutch . It failed as it grinded going into reverse. As for mods got a few making 280 whp . It was just a horrible experience all together . I learned my lesson

Just a few miles on my HHR 2.4 S/C with the SPEC Stage 3+...
Differences noted:
1. Pedal effort increase is very slight. Hardly noticeable.
2. Travel is slightly lower. Actually better than stock.
3. Engagement is smooth in city traffic.
Bottom line.... Need to (frustratingly!!) keep with recommended breakin proceedure before hammering it, but so far really like it!!
Recommendations... A light flywheel is not really suitable for everyday driving. The possible gains are nixed by driveability issues. Stay far away from any "puck-type" or non-sprung hub discs for everyday driving.

If it was not the 2+ or 3+ then I can see it happening. With 280 HP you should have the 3+ setup, anything less and you bought a clutch that was not meant for that much power....

i have stg3+ with light flywheel and lightened pressure plate option, car is making 250ish whp and 235wtq and ever since i installed the clutch i get grinding into 2nd, dealer fixed it for me but now it came back within 10,000km which is horrible, feels like my shift patter is of now and feels like the clutch over extends, i dont really know how to explain it.. i also paid for the "stock-like" feel option of whatever it was i forget now.
i was as well considering going back to stock flywheel and exedy clutch, but exedy doesnt make a clutch supporting this type of power on the f23 getrag that im aware of.

I had the Spec Stage 2+ in my Cobalt. Just the clutch
The pedal felt good, it was solid. It did have a tenancy to have a different engagement point almost every time though.
I don't know about KM but mine had 90+ passes down the track and over 40K miles and still held strong when I got rid of the car.
Had 237whp 214wtq
It was a bitch to get into gear during the break in period sometimes, it was also a little on the noisy side, but I think it was a pretty good clutch.

Spec clutches usually don't come with flywheels so when you add the cost up they almost total what an Exedy would cost. I have had the Exedy in my car for about 6 months and about 5K miles and beat on it fairly often and haven't had any problems. The only difference is a stiffer pedal which gets a bit softer after use. You get what you pay for I guess.

Can't take pics. The car was sold. But it was pretty typical that we would have to push the car since it couldn't go into reverse. Also, not trying to be a dick, but does it really matter where he got them from? Either way, those clutches seem really crappy when you compare them to other brands like Exedy.
