Mitsubishi Evo forums thoughts on the SS/TC

http://forums.evolutionm.net/other-c...-vs-evo-x.html

I bumped the thread just today with my thoughts on the SS. Safe to say, I'm in the minority over there...

There's the category that it's in. Should be the first or second discussed topic.

What I find amusing is the complaint about the same comparison being posted over and over when there's the typical dummies over there using the "It's just a Cobalt argument". At least a few of them have their heads on straight but until they get ruined (which with equal driver skill is not a far fetched statement) they'll never believe stock for stock the TC and Evo are very comparable on a road course, no questions asked .

I can't wait to drive my "Cobalt" with modded suspension, engine and SS badges after work...what a hypocritical statement that was .

Can you tell non of them have driven the TC around a track before? I hate to rain on their parade but the for the money the TC Cobalt is a far superior car to the EVO X and the Ralliart.

Gentlemen

I bought and raced a 03 Evo8 in Open Road Racing. I liked it. I bought and now race a 08 SSTC in Open road racing. I like it even better. The SSTC has less unsprung weight. The Evo has AWD. Both are exceptional cars. I would rate them tied as high speed racers. The SSTC costs far less which gives it the win in my book, hands down.

Wtf?!

those evo guys are just ass hurt.... i have a decently modded ss/sc and ive beaten evo9mrs with intake and intercooler piping... They wont admit that the cobalt ss will give the evo a run for its money and its cheaper.... i luv when they are talking PERFORMANCE and then they gotta throw in there "well my car has a nicer interior".... sounds like an excuse to me.... i luv evos, but they are not hot **** like they think they are.... i see this all the time... the cobalt is like the most hated car ive seen in a long time.... i think the TC out ran the nurbirgring track.....

I test drove a new Evo a week before I traded my Five in for the SS as I've always liked them and was pretty close to buying one the weekend I test drove it. It's a great car, I beat the **** out of it on the test drive (I wasn't going to buy the one I was test driving) and took it pretty close to ***** out and it was a great ride, I was impressed.

Then I drove the SS the next weekend...and I was absolutely floored how close the two felt considering the 10K difference in price and the FWD to AWD difference. Needless to say I didn't think the things the Evo did better (it still has a slight advantage in handling IMO, the rest were purely aesthetic) were worth the 10K difference in price, and this was when my car was stock.

its kinda funny how when grey fox dropped the numbers, then the attitude got pissed and the excuses came out. not trying to diss the Evo, cause id buy one in a second, but i love my TC. i just hate when ppl dont wanna give credit where its due. no, the car istn perfect, but i absolutely love it (misfires and all. lol) and there really isnt much to say...it flat out rips on a track...and for cheap.

its 10k more, its comparing apples to oranges

kinda like comparing a vette to an evo, sure there are evos that are faster than some vettes, but not to many vette owners are rushing to trade for an evo.

you may be able to compare the there cars times around the track, but when you pay 10k more you get a lil nicer all around car.

They are totally right about one thing, FWD won't take nearly as well to upgrades. Torquesteer sucks too.
