Cobalt SS Stage 2 Turbo Conversion Results So Far

Jannetty Racing Cobalt SS Turbo Conversion Development continues.

I still need to finish up a few minor details, but the Results So Far are pretty amazing.

On Pump Gas 22 psi boost 390 WHP 395 WTQ

Above is our Stage 2 which includes Sleeved Block, and forged Pistons, ARP Studs top and bottom HD valves and Springs Titanium retainers.

Outside of the Durability parts, this is essentially a Stock Engine as far as cams, compression, ports, etc.

This is Our Conversion turbo kit with Front mount intercooler, as well as SC intercooler, with dual bypass mod. Garrett GT3071R, and 60 lb injectors, Stock Fuel system, Stock Cat converter, 2 1/2 inch Corsa Exhaust,

This turbo kit can be run at 17 psi on a Completely Stock engine and makes 325 HP 330 TQ on pump fuel.

Then build the motor for strength, then just turn the boost up to 22-23 psi. for 390 HP 395 TQ

Same Kit.

A Full 3" exhaust may be all it needs to get up over 400 WHP.

Testing will continue over the next few weeks and I will report.

are the dyno's the same..?? are the turbo's the same? What about the intakes?

Jannetty Racing sells some turbo stuff for other cars, including the 2.2. I'd like to see what the price is for a 3076 setup.

I think u need to show these numbers to everyone because all these guys think they need to pull our cars to like 7000 rpm and this proves our cars peak at around 5800. I know this is a turbo car but our blower cars peak at around the same!

yah but if your shiftin at 5800 then u get stuck in a lower rpm on the next gear...correct....

in my gts shifting at 8400 was way more noticable than shifting at 7500...power drops after that but it sets you right back in lift which is night vs day...

im assuming same idea applies here

The reason the power drops off is because for some reason (I can't imagine why), they would build the bottom end, and leave the top end completely stock. Your loosing 30-40 hp by not porting the head, the exhaust ports are disgusting. Just the head, leave the stock cams, but just porting the exhaust side of the head would raise the powerband several hundred rpm and make ~30 more hp!

60 LB INJECTORS ON PAPER GOOD FOR 385 HP BUT DUE TO THE HIGHER FUEL PRESSURE AT 390 WHEEL AND WE ARE SEEING SIGNS OF LIMITED FUEL SUPPLY.

COMPLETELY STOCK FUEL SYSTEM

FACTORY CAT CONVERTER IN PLACE

2 1/2 INCH EXHAUST WITH RESONATOR AND MUFFLER

93 OCTANE PUMP GAS

CONSERVATIVE TUNE A LITTLE FAT AND ZERO KNOCK ACTIVITY

SUPERFLOW CHASSIS DYNO NOT THE TYPICAL DJ DREAM METER.

MY GOAL IS TO GIVE THE WORSE CASE SENERIO INSTEAD OF ABSOLUTE IDEAL SITUATION.

I AM STILL WORKING ON PRICING SO PLEASE BE PATIENT

SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS.

very not bad man, get rid of the cat, go 3" exhaust and you'll be seeing well over 400whp.
I saw peak power at 6200 rpm with my setup on a totally stock motor and 60lber's.
Now running a walbro 255lph pump and 79lb/hr injectors.... waiting for it to get a little less humid before I hit the rollers again,.
