ebay INTake FTW!!!!...CEL on though....and i haven't done the "mod" to it....that requires cutting the tube off thta's inside the filter that would make it all the same size..anyone done that...or heard of it..fixing the CEL issue?

I've had an Injen since July 07. What a piece of garbage. Mounting bracket broke off leaving a hole in the intake tube. I will be switching over to the RAW 3" intake soon. I've heard lots of good things about it.

i'll give you a clear answer on that! i first went to the xtc front mount which was getting direct air from in front of the intercooler, but got tired of putting on the weather cover and stuff. so naturally this intake had the most access to air of any intake you'll find and it still used the stock piping, it also made the blower sound cool too. now i have a k&n typhoon and the difference over that is AMAZING! now i know why k&n is a well known brand! it does better than the front mount. it has to be the metal piping being smoother, insulating the air better and has less kinks in it's shape because the difference is night and day. an intake trumps airbox mod guarenteed.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, cause I don't want to do any damage to the engine.
my k&n did that at first, but i tighted up an over-tightened clamp (yes, i said over-tightened) and it immediately went away.

INJEN does not add 17hp to the cobalt ss/sc .... don't believe what you read man. No intake for the ss/sc provides gains of 17hp. The average gain from an intake on the ss/sc is 8-10 whp.

If you can get someone to mold a plastic intake w/ gradual bends and constant size, good luck...

At the cost they would quote you, you'd be better off having someone fabricate you a true CF intake.

im not saying to buy a plastic intake .... i have the rebel intake and i'm very happy with it. all i was trying to explain was that plastic is a better insulator towards heat vs. aluminum or stainless. people on here always have the misconception that aluminum is better than plastic for heat purposes .... they are wrong on that. an aluminum intake with gradual bends and a consistant cross sectional area is better than the stock piping i know that.

I'm glad you established it, then:

Plastic>Stainless>Aluminum

I'll sleep better tonight...

Anywho, I'm just busting your ***** man. It was just very random.

Aem

I had an injen but not worth the 500 dollar fine I got. I am selling it and just got my aem today and it's carb legal. Injen sounded wicked and I hope the aem doesn't let me down. The filter is bigger but I hear that injen sounds the best. Although when I took out my Injen I was not impressed with the scrapes on the intake. I think AEM's design is the most reliable but not the best looking since you cant see it and sounding.

the AEM is a very good intake !! it makes the supecharger scream just as good as any intake. i ran it for a year before i got the rebel, and prob. would still have it if rebel didnt make an awesome group buy a couple of months ago. I actually used the filter that came with my AEM intake, and put it on my rebel intake. You are right about the smart design AEM used. You wont have to worry about rubbing or any other issues that are commom to full aluminum intakes. They claim they didn't gain anymore power by making a full intake vs. an intake that just replaces the air box while testing it. I don't know how true that is, because i felt a bit of a power increase in the middle section of my power band when i switched over to the rebel intake.
