Lol, it makes me laugh listening to how short sighted half you people are. The Cruze will be what garuntees GM will be able to build well built affordable compacts again. Assuming it sells well. And comparing the interior to a Civic is plain ******* ignorant. I've driven a Civic and the interior isn't anywhere as nice as this one. The interior of the Cruze is more along the lines of a cross between the Caddilac CTS (Radio controls and shifter console) and the Buick (center display). The curve of the dash is also very reminiscent to the CTS. So I guess Caddies, Buicks, Infinity M35's and Lexus Luxury cars are all shitty Civic rip offs too? You guys clearly need to look a little harder at successful vehicles and please, do me a favor and don't apply to GM because your logic is just plain ******* ignorant. And ya, the Cobalt would look better if it didn't have ludicrous wheel gap, boring body styling, ugly rear end, wannabe dodge neon tailights and a steering wheel that feels like a lump of frozen corny **** coil. It might also work if it had seats weren't paper thin and so square and un-supportive that anyone above
5'10 and 160 pounds slides off the seat under light cornering. The car feels cheap in every ******* way. At least the SS improves on 85% of these problems but it still doesn't compete with the rest as effectively as it could. The Cruze is a vehicle designed to appeal to the Global population. It's being designed the same around the world to cut manufacturing costs and make everything easier. It also looks way better than the base Civic and better than the Corolla. And the 1.4L Turbo engine I read about is said to be closer to 170 hp and well over 40 mpg. And please, don't preach to me about the base Cobalts great economy. My SS gets better mileage and it isn't overly close to 40 mpg. Nice try though. How about wait until the Cruze comes out before you begin speculating. Last I checked there are alot of European immigrants living in this Country and many more coming so this car will appeal to them as well. You better hope for it's success if you ever want to drive an SS compact again. As for me, i'm holding on to my SS and i'll wait and see what the Cruze offers in Performance and everything else before I start picking it apart. Take the first three letters of assume and that's what half of you sound like.

Naaa... Keep it a Sedan! Most BMW racers prefer sedans as they're torsionally more rigid.

Please please please put the LNF in it, already w/the stage 1 in it...

This Cobalt was my 1st American 'sports car'....from the looks of things to come. THE LAST.

The interior looks really nice for a compact class car. Big step up over the current Cobalts, and not ugly as sin like the new Civic interiors.

what's with the awkward placement of all the buttons? lock unlock button on the center console instead of the door? and the traction control button on the passenger side near the shifter... .. scariest thing was the 8000 buttons in a circle for the radio... gee that won't be hard to operate while trying to watch the road haha

Cobalt isn't elite and it's farrrrrrrrrrr from world class.

Fanboi's make me ******* laugh and BTW I'm glad I got under your skin because it means I did my job.
far from world class? yet still holds the record on the nurburgring .. noone said it had the build quality of a ferrari... it is what it is.. but it's a well handling solid performer for alot less than the japs can make and sell one for... take your head out of your ass

Cruze SS would have a powerplant in the form of the 260-horsepower turbocharged and direct injected 2.0-liter four-cylinder called Ecotec and six-speed manual gearbox as seen in the defunct Cobalt SS and still-available HHR SS, including the very cool Launch Control and No-Lift Shift technology. However, the Cruze’s rear torsion bar suspenders are likely to limit the car’s handling prowess slightly. It is believed that a wholesale redesign would cost too high for a low-volume SS model. Analysts speculate that if ever the Cruze SS does get made, it would appear in 2014 at the earliest, during the car’s planned mid-cycle refresh.

i'm gonna puke... hahaha this thing sounds like ****...
