thinking a bout selling the lnf for a genesis coupe???
The Genesis coupe is a far superior built car in and out, may not be as fast stock as a Cobalt SS/TC, but i see it out lasting one and having a lot higher resale value. As soon as i can pay down some more on my Cobalt it's going bye bye and I to will be getting a Genesis coupe, just have not decided yet if it will be the 2.0 turbo or the V6. To the OP i say go for it
i want a genesis coupe.....
the 2.0T with a gt35r turbo swap and a turboback exhaust got 325whp.
id still take the v6 over the 2.0T tho.
interior quality is sooo much better than that of a cobalt ss or a civic si
it has torque (i drive a civic, im not used to that)
RWD... nuff said.

I bought my ss/tc brand new from the dealership. my budget was around 25k, so i test drove the genesis coupe and it was a nice car, but its still a HYUNDAI!. you would have better luck going with a v6 camaro or a v6 mustang and then twin turbo that. Dont buy a HYUNDAI! American or German all the way! LNF is a wayy better car then the genesis coupe.
Still a good discussion though.
I actually just re-bought into a new 09 SS. I re-test drove the Genesis 2.0T coupe before I did it, and it is a nice car but **** its slow and really has no soul IMO. I've never test driven the V6, but they are over my budget and I'm more of a turbo4 kinda guy anyway. Plus to get a 2.0T that even had parity in my eyes, I had to buy a track edition which is also borderline over my budget. The 4B11 they sourced for the 2.0T is very crippled too, its no EvoX motor!
You could argue about build quality, but there really isn't anything the SS/TC can't do well. If you had to knock it besides build quality/materiels I guess the fact its FWD is a big one.
I dont know... the Cobalt has more of that "get in and beat the **** out of me!!!" feel to me.

I would love one of those cars. Kidna rare, never really see any around me, especially a hooked up one. Would be a cool car to take out, probobly get asked about it alot too
I would have been driving one right now if the local Hyundai dealership bothered to call me back or even attempt to come to some sort of deal on trading in my mustang, looking back on it now sure the cobalt is fwd but cost of ownership and the fact that the body panels and interior parts are all common gm parts means I can bust this car a whole lot of times and put it back together again for cheap the GMS1 fully warrantied thing was icing on the cake I wouldnt trade this car for anything in its price range right now I feel like this is the best value for the performance and as many ppl have proven there is a huge potential in these cars for big power.

I like the Hyundai interiors, but their performance just leaves much to be desired. For example: The Tiburon I'm driving as a rental is mated to 4 speed tiptronic. Why the hell would you put a 4 speed on a Tib GT? It doesn't come close to utilizing the power band of the engine.

wish i had rear wheel and that much power.

The Genesis coupe is sexy, I just hope that some reasonable power can be made to justify the car to anyone. I like the styling a lot, and it would appease me in the more 'grownup' and more 'luxorious' area, but the fact that it's slower than my SS/SC leaves much much to be desired...
i say go for it. i test drove them and my friend has asick ass one. Motor has turned out to be pretty reliable so far and the car in my opinion has turned out to be more reliabe than the balt, If I was you id get the v-6 model and just slap a turbo on that bitch. Thats wt my buddy did. soooo ****** fast
