Door lock switches inoperative
Door lock switches inoperative
'07 LT coupe with 8200 miles. The door lock switches on both doors are non-functional. The doors still lock and unlock with the remote. They also lock automatically when i start driving and unlock when i turn off the ignition.
Anyone else experience this?

More than likely what has happened is that the aluminum rods that attatch the the lock switches to the lath have beconme detatched. It still makes sense for those to malfunction and for you power lock to work. I would take it in for warranty work. They should have it fixed relatively quickly if that is the problem.

No, there's no aluminum rods attaching the lock switches to the latch, that's just retarded.
I unplugged the driver side lock switch, and it made the passenger side start working again.
So, I swapped the switches, putting the good switch in the driver door and the bad switch, unplugged, in the passenger door and now I again have working lock buttons on my driver door. Yeah eff the passenger, they don't need to play with my door locks.
It's still under warranty, why wouldn't I take it in? I don't want to take the chance of some hack working on my car, maybe adding a few warranty repair lines, taking **** apart and putting it back together half-assed (for those that don't work in the car business, it happens way more often than you think).
The rods are fine. As said, the RKE functioned properly as did the auto locking feature whenever the vehicle is in gear (Or moving for the stick shifts). If the RKE and safety locks work, then it is not the actuator rods. If it is only the inside switches that are inoperable when the button is pressed, it is either a bad switch, a loose electrical connector, or a blown fuse.
