I am in the market for a new h/e and zoomer made a good poi t. Measured my current h/e, which is a a/a core. Air has litle room to go thru compare to my radiator...also had less fins per square inch.

 

Hey car guy could you figure out what was not true that zoomer said? Beats me ::grabs more popcorn::

read carefully; the discussion is a coolant flowed heat exchanger; somehow Zoomer has commandered the topic, says that OTTP statements are not true and has wandered into the effectiveness of forced air applications for heat exchangers. So if you are confused , so are we. Zoomer is zoomer. At least he is not rude in this post...

Looks great. I haven't installed mine yet until I buy the dual pass. Have you determined what the drop in IAT2 is?

 

To be honest I only know the temp on the gauge. I don't know where it measures the temperature from. It is still pretty much the same until you gun it and then it gets cooler. I am around the 82 to 84 degree area. Celcius I mean

 

Anyone know what size the last h/e from OTTP had for drain size? I need to plug mine, I keep scraping and opening it up. I took the drain thing to Home Depot before I even put it on, and they didn't have a bolt that was the correct size. :/

Well ****. I don't feel like draining all the fluid out to find one that fits. Ugh

 

I was planning on plugging mine before the installation. My stage 3 kit had to be special ordered so I haven't done anything yet.

 

If there is a plug for this kit that OTTP is willing to send me instead of that drain then i will buy one tonight. If not my car is too low to have that drain there.

 

can we get a comparison on iat2 temps??? does zzp s3 or this ottp HE cool better???

for someone like me, I just drive highway and gun it when old people are in the way. which should I get?

 

I'm curious as well. I can see that the S3 does have a weight advantage.

 

idc about weight. im about efficiency. after all, my trunk and backseat are filled with 1000 pounds of books everyday. lol

I called up OTTP, and got the size for the plug. Going to fix it tomorrow I think.

 

What sucks is the day I ordered my HE is the day this was posted. What sucks even more is I paid more for an inferior product. Def. not OTTPs fault, just mine for bad luck. Now if I wasn't in Afghanistan I'd sell the old one and just get a new one... Lol

Did I really? Sweet! Lol, I haven't had the chance to see it. Like I said am sitting here in afghanistan and get back early Jan. Parts install is scheduled for Feb.
