is there a reason you guys decided to route it to the side of the engine instead of over like some of the aftermarket setups?

I think it looks better the way we routed it. I also like it better for working on the engine- changing plugs, or something of that nature.

I have hahn's, but dont care for it. I dont know if I was just unlucky, but it rubs my hood (rubbed off the powder coat in 3 places on the piping and paint to match on the hood) and by their recommendation I used the worm clamps instead of upgrading to tbolts (they told me on the phone they will hold fine). Thanks to that, I now have a dent in my hood from when the charge piping blew off one of the worm clamps and slammed into my hood. I now have tbolt clamps and havent had a problem since (still rubs), but I am going to have to go by a machine shop and have them adjust the hot-side piping to fit correctly.

I remember seeing an install guide somewhere for these (member written) and imho it was completely wrong, because installed that way would leave the piping too high in the engine bay, which could lead to rubbing issues. I didnt have rubbing until I rotated the motor w/ ottp mounts. But the Hahn piping fits correctly, and has tons of clearance in my car with rotated mounts once I figured out what should be the proper way to install

I hate the way the stock piece looks but are there any real HP gains to be had by switching to an aftermarket piece or is it only for "bling"? More importantly to me, could this be used by GM to deny warranty in the future?

Thanks.

The stock piping is made from crap plastic. When people are replacing it, it's not for 'bling'- it's for safety and reliability. I don't think it's an issue for stock power- but when you're doing higher HP setups, I'd be nervous of that sucker exploding.

As for warranty- I guess they can use any excuse if they want to be dicks. Find a good dealer and take him out to lunch... see if that improves anything lol

I'm getting stage 1 installed tomorrow. I'll keep my eyes on this thread to see which piece people like more & add it to my list of future items to buy then.

Thanks.

I think most are getting around 6whp for the charge piping. Not a big gain, but I upgraded the pipe as insurance as well.

My injen setup. Needs better coupler for lower pipe..... recommend running a bead on lower pipe as well, so it has some grip on the clamp and coupler. I didnt do that, and dont have T Clamps.... I just have a BUNCH of clamps all crazy down there to keep it from POPping off when im running trifecta 23psi
