My friend said he wants to race his Mini Cooper (2009, twin turbo) against my Cobalt (2006, SS Supercharged 2.0)

His is six speed, mine is five,

Just wondering what are my chances?
How do the Cobalts fair up against a Minicooper?

Guys, a buddy of mine own a spacecraft, I have a tuned cobalt turbo, what do you think of the outcome from a 200 roll and dig?

 

i think ull lose due to the fact that the g forces coming out of the turbo will not add up to the amount of stickers on the space ship... although u do have a better power to weight ratio

 

The mini is a single turbo not twin. You will smoke him mini coopers are slow as ****.

 

stock 2.4 will beat it, 2.2 is a good race. If you don't completely destroy it it's because you can't drive for ****.

 

I dunno man, I think he has the better power to weight ratio running jet fuel

 

it's 2 inline turbos i'm pretty sure. John Cooper model. A setup like that has a small one, and a "big" one. Small one spools quick for no lag, then the big one takes over.

they call it a twin turbo, but i only see one turbo, they only mention one twin scroll turbo (maybe confusion from that?), and they mention the turbo makes X boost at this rpm then X boost at this rpm, but they word it like its all the same turbo. I think they just meant twin scroll turbo, not twin turbo

 

Yes it has a twin scroll turbo just like the lnf not twin turbos.

 

i ran a cooper S that had some work done to it, and from a 65 roll to about 110 I pulled him by like 2 car lengths.............IN 5TH GEAR, cuz i was lazy and didnt want to downshift, and since i started to pull i was curios. His exhaust was loud as hell and I know he dropped gears too. So i cant imagine a new stock one being that much quicker.

I know it was 2009 this was posted, but I actually did get to race a turbo mini at the drag strip here this summer. I raced him twice and beat him by a large margin both times. My car's not especially quick so they must be even less so.
