How can I mod it so its always amber DRL, never headlights?

Is there a way to ground out that sensor on the dash to just simply trick it into thinking its always daytime?

I want to make the AUTO position basically be strictly amber DRL. Help a noob!

this is what i did: if your like me and dont drive at night and dont use the high beams....i just pulled the highbeam fuses out and when i need them i will just put them on. now you will have to turn your hi beams to the on position for this mod to work. if that isnt what your looking for then you could just pull the low beams but i would just recomend getting HID kit for your low beam and pulling the highbeams for the look that you want.

when i drive and comute around town i have my high beams on at all times (fuses pulled of course) and when it gets dark i just shut them off and resume with my low beams on. and i like the look of just the amber signals on and no driving lights on.

You would need to do quite a bit of rewiring to make your DRL's into the 05/06 style.

If you want DRL's disabled though, yank the fuse in the engine compartment fuse box.

OK well my car is 05.... Amber only during the day, then headlights when it gets dark....

The way it switches into headlights is what I want to disable. I want DRL's to strictly be the double lit ambers. ideas?

I thought it'd be as simple as modding that dash "eye" thing?

Oh, the Autolights system. Yeah, you'll need to find a way to fool the car into thinking that it is daylight out. You would need to either come up with something that shines light on it all the time, or find a way to remove the sensor and bypass it by adding a resistor.

Ya do that...

Hey Mine is 06 and Yellow also,

I dono how yours is but mine has
Auto Off (Monontary Postion)
Auto (Detent)
Parking Lights (Detent)
Headlights (Detent)

If you switch to the parking lights, it wont matter, day or night, you will
only have your yellow (amber?) ones on

The sensor on the dash is just a variable resistor...replace it with a fixed value resistor equal to the daytime value.
