What are your winter IAT2's?

Hello All,

I installed the SC setup on my 2009 LAP engine back in the summer. I have done the IAT2 conversion, to be able to see the IAT2 temps, and I'd like to know what you are experiencing for IAT2's in the winter months. I'm talking PA, MD, VA, you know.. NE people where it is cold, lol. I'm sorry if this has been covered before. I've read a lot here and haven't seen it.

Thanks, Gene.

I normally see ~20 above ambient while cruising. Sometimes lower, on really cold days I've been able to cruise around at about 10 above ambient

I am running dual pass/option B and a cobra HE

while stationary it will climb (to ~120), but falls right back after you get moving again

If you park your car, then get back in before everything cools back to ambient it will read really high (~150s) when first starting, but again, once moving it comes back to where it should be

I'm in Az but the nights here have been pretty cold, mid 40's low 50's. Iat1 shows about 60ish and I can usually get iat 2 about 10 degrees higher(70-75) crusin around.

At stops it gets to about 100-110 but goes down fast when driving. Just like SS33 said, if i just let it idle for along time iat2 will climb to 140-145.

On hard pulls(2nd-4th gear) starting from 70iat2, it'll get to 90-95ish. Only goes past 100 iat2 if i do 3 of those pulls back to back.

All in all i'm only seeing average 20 above iat1 in winter and now boosting about 16psi, 30-35 above iat1 in summer and boosting about 14.5. I'm running rich as hell now that its winter. Like almost 10 flat afr

I am s/c and meth injected so I couldn't help you, but I am about 101-105 normal driving, when I get on it I hit maybe 145 max. stock pulley.

nothing to worry about until you hit 199F after a 3rd gear pull on a hot sunny day and realize your ic pump is shot!

I was sitting in dead stop traffic today for about an hour, it was around 35 degrees outside and I showed 125-129 never above 129 and that was at a standstill it took almost 30 minutes to get to 110 degrees. I have a 2.79" pulley, CX big HE running inline with the stock HE which I moved in front of the A/C condensor so its not sandwiched in between the condensor and radiator and I put a switch on my fans so they can be turned on by the pcm or by the switch (which I didnt use at all today.) At cruise I see around 60-68 IAT2 and Wot never went above 100 degrees all the way to the top of 3rd gear.

after the move of the stock HE

another shot

all done!

I'm seeing between 54-104 in Buffalo. Weathers been 19-30ish.

But then again my intercooler pump works only some of the time. Hammer mod.

This was more fall temperatures, but now if it's like 20 degrees IAT2 will be be like 30* cruising...usually 10-30 above ambient
