06 ss/sc vs. 06 c6

was running down a local road here, no traffic in sight. a 06 c6 auto ran up on my ass and passed me. so i take off after it. we come near a red light and we both slow down. im now at his side. light turned green and we are doing 50 mph. so i downshift into 2nd and squeel my tires and im off. we are even for about 2 seconds and then i start pulling on him. i shut down at 110mph and have a good 2 cars on him. so we go again, this time he just takes off. instantly he put a car on me. i downshift into 2nd again and i catch up dead even to him. around mid 3rd gear im doing 130mph and i have another 2 cars on him. we run one last time and same results. i was damn impressed with this f'ing lil car!! i couldnt believe what happened. a cobalt ss/sc beat a freaking 06 c6 auto 400hp vette. im still shocked. im sure it has happened to other people but this was my first good kill with my new mods...current mods include:

3" catless XTC downpipe
Airbox mod with K&N E-1009 filter
Poly engine mount
60lb. injectors
2.6" pulley
stage 2 belt
HP Tuners tune
1 step NGK colder plugs
Weapon R engine damper


unbelievable! and i dont care if any of you call BS....i beat a c6 400hp vette!

That is sweet indeed! I'm curious as to what the car will run like after I get my Stage 2 in... and then a day or two later I'll be bolting on my 2.8". Looks to be a fun week for me too!!!

dunno how difficult it is to race an automatic car...but im sure my 7400rpm redline and my 20lbs of boost helped alot

im not gonna call BS at all. the C6 may be a 12 second car, but we have seen that it is possible for cobalts to hit 12s as well. with 20lbs of boost i can see it being possible against an auto vette. nice kill.

sorry not a chance i have the same mods as you with a 2.5 pulley instead. It is quick for what it is but there is no way in hell you beat a car that has at least 100+ hp on you not to mention all that tq. the car is a lil heavier and has a lot more power doesn't make sense to me.

they trap 4mph faster stock, the rob's car as of his last times.

If I read this right you did this from a roll right? That would seem reasonable since RWD owns FWD from a dig and both cars are capable of 12's.

maybe a c6 mite get a ss/sc from a dig from there high torq. but from a 50mph roll..i doubt it. with a 2.6 pulley and some other mods the supercharger will over power that car. the ss/sc is very underated compared to many other cars..but it def can blow away many...next time well tape it...lol inhale

my friends stock auto 2006 c6 ran a 12.7 or 12.8 dont remember the trap.

This guy sounds like he owns an SRT4 and not a Cobalt with a story like that. Seriously, a modded cobalt can be quite fast on the roll, but a c6 doesnt just crap out like mustang gt does at 70 mph, it keeps pulling. I for one call BS or misunderstanding.

Sorry, but they don't trap 114 mph stock. It may have been done before, but it's not a consistant thing. I've seen many stock C6's in the 13's @~109mph. Besides, 50 mph in an auto is probably a bad spot to start from. So that, plus the fact that 50mph in 2cnd gear is a strong spot for us (at like 4,000rpms), this is believeable. These cars have great topend power. Don't forget the torque management that LS2's have from the factory. Good runs to the poster.

and just as a side note...ive ran 2 stage 2 cobalts when all i have was intake, engine damper, poly engine mount and my custom ramair (dunno if i posted that b4...) and i was dead even with both of them. so i dunno if my car is a factory freak but it will be dynoed very soon and im going to the track on the 17th so ill post slips then. and yes, this was from a 50mph roll and my 2nd gear is strong as hell because i chirped the crap outta my tires downshifting into 2nd.

i know where my car is strong as well but who is to say the c6 was stock how do we know this. So even if they trap 109 on average isn't that just as fast as the best we have to offer.

Well, but keep in mind that at 50mph, if I recall, the car doesn't downshift (C6). If there anything like the LS2 GTO's, 50mph is a very weak spot to race from.

so unless you have more mods than you are telling us bs. for comparison rob's car ran those times with a aggresive tune and another h/e and a catback if that matters. So his car will be slower than rob's by maybe a 1-2 mph so the math doesn't add up.

well the vette most likely if is a auto has i believe 3.23 gears so first gear should end at 35 to 40 mph. at 50 mph it shouldn't be big enough to make a difference.

inhale do you know if it was the 4 speed auto vette or the 6 speed auto. If it was the A4 with 2.73 gears from a 50 roll he'd be in a shitty part of the powerband. His gear splits would also be horrible. I could easily see you pulling on him especially with that 7400 redline. Plus those vette's only put down around 320 rwhp and are about 350lbs heavier then the cobalt. Nice kill. If you want one day we can see how you do against my vette.
