New Cruze SS idea
an R32s AWD system only adds 157lbs to a VR6 Golf, Wh do you seem to think this will be such a big deal?

lol, 157 lbs is a lot of weight, especially when it is rotating mass in the drivetrain.
I just don't want any more brake problems. Two theories about the cause of uneven/low-mileage rear brake wear on the SS/TC are caliper design (floating caliper non Brembo), and pad compound (not Brembo). I want a redesign with fixed calipers and a different pad compound to eliminate the problem; does not necessarily have to be Brembo, GM could build a fine brake system at a lower cost.
As northvibe has said, GM could make more money by offering upgrade parts. People buy these "tuner" cars that aren't that expensive so they can buy stuff for their car. The first thing anybody asks me is "What have you done to the car?" People expect owners of these cars to have mods. I even feel embarrassed at times to say that my car is stock, lol. It's like I am letting people down when they find out I have not done anything to it yet.
GM would gain so much more than profits, they would gain added loyalty. What's going to work better; if you build a car and forget about it, or if you support it with new parts to enhance the ownership experience and give people what they want?
It's crazy that they built the SS/TC with the performance that it has for the price. I'm saying make it even better, and even raise the price some, and it will still be the best bang for the buck.

' The Cruze weighs 2,844 pounds with the manual transmission and 2,899 pounds with the auto, so both are lighter than the current 2,991-pound Cobalt." INSIDE LINE.
after the SS treatment I'd expect the cruze to come in about 100-200 lbs heavier than the current SS/TC, but if it gets the 255hp/295tq LNF variant from the Regal GS , Everything they need for the SS can be taken from the GS, they just need to strip out the luxury

I really like it, I'd def buy one.
Real decent styling, 4 door practicality, AWD would be a major plus for me for winter driving, plus it looks more mature and distinguished than the Cobalts. Also if they put a TC engine in it, you could mod the car less and still make a nice amount of power.
