My name's Cory and I'm relatively new to the site (been a member for a while but haven't posted much). I just painted my interior trim black, and am now noticing my silver controls look like ass. Just wondering if anyone locally has black controls and would be interested in trading for silver. Its from an 08 cobalt lt with the aux ipod jack and no heated seats. I live in north van, and realize I'm probably not gonna have any luck but thought I'd try anyways. If nothing else, then it gives me a chance to say hey to the other colablt owners in the Vancouver area. Thanks.

I can't help you, but just stopping in to say I'm thinking of doing the same thing. But I too need to find a black sterio and AC controls. Do you have pics of it? I'd love to see it first if you wouldn't mind.

 

I have some pics on my phone. Not the greatest quality, but shows the generel idea. Looks alright at the moment I just think more black would look more consistent. Ill try and post em tommorow. Mine is very black, I even painted the area around my vents gloss black to add some contrast.. turned out pretty cool.

 

idk about the radio but check out ebay for the climate controls, i picked my black ones up for 35 bucks

Ebay also has black sterios. You might just have to buy them and try to sell your currents. Good luck tho.

 

Yeah I was lookin at them about a month ago, just would like to try and avoid the hassle of having to deal with shipping and what not. Plus if anyone wanted silver than this way it wouldnt cost either of us money. I'm gonna hold on to my pipe dream of somebody wanting to trade for a few weeks to see if theres anyone out there, lol. Thanks for the info tho. I'll try and track down a better camera to get some better quality pics for you too to see what the trim looks like.

I just put a few pictures up in my gallery. I ended up having to take them with my laptop webcam again cuz my phone wouldnt connect to my computer. Oh well... lemme know what ya think.

The wreckers will charge you for them, but just go in with cash and you can dicker around the price.

I believe all 2010's come with black bezel controls. Might be able to trade an 2010 guy?

Thanks. The steering wheel was alot of work cuz i just taped everything off really well instead of taking apart the airbag stuff. But I thought it turned out good. The steering wheel feels meatier being all black( i think it added about 10 hp lol) I was unsure about the vents, but i think they turned out good too.. added some contrast. Now I just need to fix the paint job on my shift knob.

 

My 05 steering wheel is all black already. Imma paint the dash trim, the vents, and the pieces around the door locks/window controls

 

You will like it.. I think it should have come black from the factory, but thats just me. You should do your pillars too. Did mine and looks pretty sweet. I'm also in the process of finding the best way to dye my headliner black too.
