They really need to stop letting Daewoo design their cars.

The rear looks like the new Hyundai Elantras

Sorry about the picture size. I'm at work and don't have any means to downgrade.

It's not the end of the cobalt. The Cruze is going to be the ultra-high mileage small car for Chevy and the Cobalt will be built alongside it for awhile yet.

actually chevy said it was the cobalt replacement.

The only thing undetermined yet, is what it will be named in the states.

Well this just reassures that Chevy fails except when it comes to the corvette. Goodbye aftermarket support

I just read in C&D that that was not the case, at least not initially. They said that the Cruze would be sold alongside the Cobalt for at least a few years.

Edit: Bah, nvm, looks like their source of info changed its mind: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/..._info_car_news

We expect the current Cobalt to be offered through June 2010, with the 2011 Cruze built alongside it until the Cobalt is phased out.

From wikipedia:

Cavalier 24 years production....
Cobalt 4 years production......

^ Fail GM fail......

I would give the coby atleast 10 years and maybe one more redesign.

One of the marketers at GM i read in a post said the new cobalt would be named something else.....

Month later cruze comes out. Dunno. I guess we will see, or they are flipflopping. Here is something though,

Look at that sedan and compare it to the current 4 door cobalt. Its also still on the delta platform. Coincidence? i dont think so.

No kidding. 3 model years of limited production for the LNF Cobalt is not a way to get a big marketshare of aftermarket parts....

I agree, the Cruze looks nice, especially in that red (I didn't like the white one in the old spy photo, but I don't like white cars as a rule...).

What scares me is the 140 hp 1.4L engine... where's my performance model??????????????

Reguadless how they make it or how good it looks, car reviewers are gonna have a bitchfest on how "the interior feels cheap." They threw that on the ZR1 also! "For 100K the interior has the same cheap plastics on the Z06, not what you expect for 100K."

well.. there is a difference between a 100k car recieving the same cheap plastic that a 25,000$ car recieves... They have a valid point for the ZR1.... it shouldn't have the same interior as a 55,000$ Z06

The cobalts interior is cheap... because it is a cheap car .. 23k...... the argument is not valid because your getting exactly what your paying for.

Bottom line.. if I could have the power of our 08-09 Balt SSs with just the exterior of the Cruze... I would be a happy camper. Cobalts exterior is not hideous by any means however.
