this girl i work with has a jealous/stupid ex boyfriend. he gives every guy in the restaurant dirty looks when he comes to eat just because we talk to her. anyways, i was serving him at the bar, and he starts to talk smack about my cobalt.

he asked me what i had done to it, i started off by telling him i had exhaust and an intake. he told me he smoked many cobalt ss in his rx-8 before and they're not fast at all. i tried to explain to him that there are 2 types of ss. he said he knows all about chevrolet and insists there is only 1.

i decided to play along with this for fun, and i told him i guess your right, but i want to race to see how fast those rx-8s are. he told me it wont even be a race blah blah blah.

anyways, he came back when i was done my shift so we could have our race.

he has a 2006 rx-8 with exhaust, im not sure which model.

so we went to the freeway(which was empty btw) and he was kind enough to offer me a head start, i started about 3-4 cars infront of him at 60 mph. we agreed that the race would start once my hazards flashed 3 times. on the third flash he guns it, but i didnt, i waited for him to pass my front bumper and then i put my foot down. i caught him by 105 and pulled buses by 130.

after the race he told me "i didnt want to smoke you, so i only gave half throttle to make this a good race" ...lol

*UPDATE*:

so this guy with the rx-8 bought an intake and a fart can, he was with one of his friends, and i happend to spot him leaving the same parking lot as me...

he was riding my *** when i was merging onto the empty free way, so i pulled 3 lanes over and slowed to 75 mph, he slowed down, and revved his engine at me, so i revved back, and him and his friend started to laugh. i tell him to honk it off, he tells me "are you serious(laughing)" anyways, he honks it off and we go from 75 mph,

by 120 i hit the brakes, im not sure how far i was infront of him because we were going around a bend on the freeway but it was definetly more than 4 cars... hard to tell.

he probably didnt realise it was me because i debadged the car and removed the spoiler since our last race

to be honest he's a huge jackass, i saw him at the gym once, only looked at him briefly and said hi, then he went and told his ex i was giving him dirty looks for an hour and a half. so beating him after give him such a big advantage felt really good

i dont really care what he tells other people, he had his foot pinned until i hit the brakes, he probably figured out i gave him a head start, he knows i beat him by buses. all his friends drive riced out civics, if anything ill get a few more runs out of this

 

I was going to clown you if you said in here that you lost to a stock rx-8. They handle really well, but are ungodly slow.

 

beating an RX-8 isnt something to be proud of, i beat one in my 05 ram 1500 4x4 hemi with a 20 Ft boat & trailer on it. (It was a close race though)

rx-8s are effin slow. If there is anyone on here that went on the dark knight cruise back in april they can tell you that i walked on one every time he raced me lol and i drive a minivan lmao.

 

over-rated.. thats all i have to say about that..

i'm surprised he didnt give you more of those rice excuses like " you'd have lost if this was a winding road"
or my favorite "damn, my bottle is empty!"

 

RX-8's are built for turns not straights... simple as that. i dislike RX-LATES also. but they are fun on crazy roads.

i swapped cars with my friend today for jokes, he has a vtec b16a with intake header and exhaust. we did a 60-100 roll on the highway, he smoked me in my car by like 3-4 buses lol. does that count as a kill for me??

 

Not really.. Cuz you can't say.. "I beat this honda".. You'd have to say.. "my car beat this car".. So it's a kill for your car.. Not you.

But remember.. You probably didn't have your vtak fluid engaging properly.. and you probably didnt even use the custom nos setup.

If you wouldve done it right... You shouldve pulled that cobalt according to power to weight ratios.

 

Tell him RX-8s were voted the most overrated of its time. I really can't stand these drivers with RX-8s who think they are fast. Then again, there are some cobalt owners who think they are fast and are naive to. At least a cobalt SS will always be > RX-8

 

well i forgot to do my pre-race v-tec weight reduction, i left a few bills in my pocket that shouldnt have been there, forgot to blow my nose, i was wearing my lacoste shoes which are heavier than my driving shoes and i needed to take on serious dump. if i had done all that im sure v-tec would have kicked in and whooped my cobalt's ass

ye i could tell him that, but i dont think he knows anythign about cars, and people who own high revving cars always think they're much faster than they really are
