Quad Cities (Iowa/Illinois) Please Read!
All-
Anyone with a SS/TC near the Quad Cities or Iowa City. I am wanting to buy a SS/TC but there are none new at the dealers around here. I have found a few that I could buy within 150 miles, but I really don't want to go that far just to decide.
So anyone in the area with a SS/TC, would you be willing to take me for a drive and let me check out your car??? Lunch is on me!

Who did you talk to? I didn't see any Lujacks Chevy in Dubuque. There's a Lujacks in Davenport, but I know they don't have any.

I don't mind the "modded" part.... I just want to get a feel for the comfort of the car etc.
But it's all good, I'm going to check out the one at Lujacks in Davenport tomorrow.
There's a ton on lots in DSM??? Really? Find me a white one with LSD, sunroof.
I stand corrected I guess. Karl Chevrolet had like 4-5 of them not long ago, wonder if they rotated them off to another dealer, because they had been there AWHILE.
Shottenkirk Waukee Chevrolet (DSM) has a black Sedan SS they've had for at least 6 months.
Classis Chevrolet (waaaay out in Council Bluffs) had 3 coupes and then I got bored of looking on autotrader for you

Still well over an hour drive from me though

Just drove the blue one, thanks for the tip. Cheapest price I have seen also, however I don't want blue.
Overall we liked the car. The upgraded two tone interior was a nice option. Compared to my Civic SI however, the car overall didn't feel nearly as "quality". Not sure how to describe it, it just had more rattles and squeaks. I could get over that, but the one thing that might keep me from buying a SS is the shifter location. It seems like the shift lever is WAY too far towards the back of the car. I felt like I was reaching back for it.
Not sure if I could get used to that. Everything else was nice.

I went from a Volvo (of all things) to my SS. And yah, don't expect later model Honda build/interior quality. I'm not sure how much you're looking at paying, but when I got mine in March I financed it for 16,800 out the door from a dealer who had 7 on the lot, and had been there 5-6 months. Let me clarify that by saying they gave me 0% financing, knocked a bunch of money off the car and then gave me a retardedly huge trade in for my almost 300k Volvo S70. I'm glad I got the deal I did, because man these things are worth nada used.
This car was supposed to be my daily driver.
I really wanted a Volvo C30 T5 instead, but the deal dictated I buy this. I like this car, but honestly if you're not getting a smoking deal... don't make a compromise. Since buying it the Cobalt has become my toy car. Don't really drive it much and just having fun tinkering on it.

Thanks for the honest review. Mine has to be a daily driver and I'm in the car for 2 hours every day. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the interior. It looked nice, I liked the dash etc okay. I'm actually not a big fan of our Honda dash with the goofy digital speedo.
In the end though, I just don't think I can handle the location of the shifter! Other than that I really liked the car, but I'm pretty sure my arm would get tired from having my arm so far back while shifting.
However, the deal is really good on it. Lujacks is a no haggle type place, and they have it for $19,800 or something like that if anyone is interested. It's blue, has the low spoiler, sunroof, and LSD.

I always felt the shifter location was good. I'm 5'11" and drive with the seat back a bit though. If anything it's a bit far forward for me since adjusting it properly for the 1-2 shift.

I REALLY wanted to like it, but I guess I'm sticking with my Civic SI. Bummer.
