Cuz i dont have a license to drive my car right now. Once i get a job, I get my license back and am able ot drive. I dont have a job to pay for insurance so i dont drive. once i have an income,i will take it to a self washcar wash. i jsut got a few lil white spots of the sticky stuff. my friend has so goo gone, I'll have him bring it down once he gets outta school and use it. then wash it off and clay bar it once more then wax it.

I used Bug and Tar Remover, and a heat gun. Then I wiped it very quickly with rubbing alcohol (too much will remove the finish) to get any remains off. Looks great, no signs of the adhesive.

they make an Automotive GOO Gone, it's safe to use on clearcoat paints.
Found randomly at autozone. That's what I used when I took off my dealertag on my trunk, and it worked great.

I used lighter fluid after taking the badge off with fishing line......spray, scrap, rub, spray, repeat. then wash it down and then wax and it will look fine.

i used my finger nail and a heat gun for most of it, then some wax and grease remover thats safe for paint. then a clay bar got the last little bits i couldn't get, then a little wax. took me a whole 5 minutes to get the ls emblems off. easy as can be.

imo the best i have ever used is by a company called msi. its called boost. works freaking awesome and super fast. also if you are very careful with it a bit of laquer thinner could be used without damaging the paint or fingernail polish remover without the acetone. or ammonia based glass cleaners are also safe for the paint. actually boost is basically all ammonia.. work awesome.

Keep the hair dryer at it and pry away. I drove mine around for a few days with a bunch of the gunk on the back exposed because I didn't have time to get it all off at once. Don't get me wrong it looked horrible, but the elements wore away at it a bit and it was easier to get off the second time around.

I don't know how long it took you guys with the goo gone, but I used "Disolve It", and it took me about 3 minutes to remove the badges, 5 minutes to get rid of all the glue, and a another 10 minutes to wash the areas and rewax them. I didn't have to use a hair dryer or fishing line. Just some sewing thread, a half bottle of "Disolve It", my finger nail, and a terricloth towel.

"Disolve it" is citrus oil based, so its perfectly safe on all kinds of paint and clearcoats. Just wash it off with regular car soap and water. I use meguires.

I will take pics tomorrow and post. I took every badge off except the Bowtie in the grill, which I will probably fab a different emblem to replace that. Maybe a single "S".

thats the best option really, I was out or I would have used some. I didn't mention it because I know someone would over do it and jack up their paint. but it works awesome.

well thx all of u again. its all clean and nice now. i washed and waxed it when i was done. i needed the goo gone cuz the clay bar wouldnt get off just a few lil specs and they were annoying. so i went bought the goo gone, Which. i found at dollar tree for a buck, perfect, a lil bottle. cuz im sure i wont need alot of it. well next on a sunny day is the Gm badges on the fenders, and thats prolly it. I think it would be kool to put the Cobalt SS in the middle of the trunk, but after i shave the trunk, cuz it would look alot better.
