Because you can just get it copper dipped then throw a clear powdercoat over it = real copper and its protected

2- Have you seen the price of copper, might as well gold plate them

1. I seriously doubt you know what you're talking about here. Copper tarnishes due to humidity, not heat. The powder would seal the copper. You're in the clear here.

2. EVERYTHING that is chromed first gets copper plated. Are you just dumb? Go be a big kid and google the chroming process. What a retarded thing to say.


OP, you have 3 legitimate options to accomplish this look.
1. Copper plating and lots of elbow grease. Just polish them all the time. Guys with polished magnesium wheels do, and that stuff corrodes even faster than copper tarnishes.

2.Clear coating with paint.

3. Powder coating with clear.

It can obviously be done, I took these pictures at WekFest this year:
