09 ss or malibu ltz

I have been researching vehicles to buy and am torn between 2 choices. The 09 cobalt ss and the all new malibu ltz with the 2.4 liter and a 6 speed auto. Any responses to help sway my decision?

i think the cobalt is much more awesomer!! and it has like 5 less horsepower but it weighs more and like it has a turbo and easy to upgrade and cobalt is AWESOME!!!

The quality is just much better in the malibu. Not to mention it will be around longer than the next year unlike the cobalt.

do you want more of a fast economy car or more of a sophistocated wannabe luxury car.. imo i would take the malibu over the cobalt anyday.. id rather get the LT v6 because the leather/suede interior is much more attractive and the price is about 5k less..

We drove a 2.4 L malibu when we went to buy ours and it was so underpowered that even my wife couldnt stand it . We ended up paying a little more for a LT2 W/3.6L V6 (252 hp) and tap shifter. We are very happy with it . Take the Trac off and the thing will spin the tires shifting into 2nd easily lol . It has wheels that are almost identical to the polished SS/SC 18's.

Sorry Steve bro, but you're wrong. The 2008 Malibu can be had in LTZ trim with the 2.4 Eco and a 6speed automatic.

LS and 1LT have a 4 speed auto with the 2.4L

2LT and LTZ get the 6 speed with the 2.4L

The 3.6L V6 is available on all trim levels except for the LS and only available with the 6 speed, but it is a different 6 speed than the 6 speed that is mated with the 2.4L 4 cylinder.

Now, all that being said, these cars are polar opposites and the OP needs to figure out WTF he wants...

Now having shopped the Cobalt SS segment: Mazdaspeed3, Civic Si, and WRX...I liked the SS the most. Plus, in my daily, I like torque.
