2008 Cobalt SS Turbo First Drive and Review by CobaltSS.net
#227
i was just on motortrend this morning. they have a write up for the ss/tc. It does 14.2 in the quarter mile AND 5.7 sec 0-60. Since the trans on the new tc is just about maxed out, seems logical that my car, running a 13.8 - 13.9 can hang or take it. Can someone explain to me though how a tc cobalt can take a sc cobalt to 60? is there no turbo lag?
I like the supercharger whine, scares the crap out of old people going down main street. I guess im just old sch0ol.
06 Cobalt SS/SC, G85, S2, NATES 2.9, NGK7RE, DUAL PASS +OPT B, INJEN CAI, HURST STS

Yes. The new axles are 34MM
Everything on the sedan will be identical to the coupe.

Don't know if this a repost, but found some more sedan pictures.

call me crazy, but I think that the sedan is better looking then the coupe. It just seems to sit better, perhaps its the color and the wheel combination in those pic's. But I just think that it's a better looking car overall

i will have to disagree; the one thing about the sedan that always bothered me was the way the rear door and rear glass is shaped. to me, it doesn't fit with the flow of the front end of the car.
i just wish the coupe had a liftback (rear glass lifts up like the Celica/RSX/Eclipse) instead of just a little trunklid opening; it would make the car SO much more useful and it wouldn't look any different than it does now.

Be nice to own a top-of-the-line Cobalt AND be able to enjoy driving it EVERY day too.

I don't live in a fantasy world of open roads where one can run through the gears and open up with their hair blowing in the wind. I live in the real world where 95% of driving is work related, in traffic, stop-and-go, creeping along, lots of lights, and 45 MPH speed limits. You know, where a 6 mile drive requires more than 50 clutch operations and 40 shifts and practically never see 5th gear.

oh and on a side note, if your going to make fun of AMERICANS, please spell it right

City driving is the most fun for a manual tranny.
Unless you're one of those lazy farks who need an automatic. Or you need a free hand in order to keep that cell phone permanently fixed to the side of your head.

I LMAO listening to all the manual equipped car owners at work constantly whining about driving their manual trannies to work. Day after day it becomes a chore -- not a pleasant long term experience. I enjoyed driving sticks when I was younger too -- but times have seriously changed when it comes to the "fabled" open roads.
I just want Chevy to get a grip on the real world and offer their car models to an old-fart like me the way I want one -- and I'm the one that can afford one. Being .3 seconds quicker on a dragstrip in a stick-Vs-auto car is not important to me.

To all you people bitching about traffic- Get away from the damn coasts. Other than Chicago and Minneapolis, the REST OF THE COUNTRY doesn't really have traffic issues. Shoot, there are only like 2 million drivers in the whole state of Wisconsin, lol.

Thats alot easier said then done, besides the fact that my job, school, friends and such are out here. The idea of simply up-rooting and moving west just for the sake of having more open spaces is alittle immature, there are alot more factors besides that.
