doesnt the solstice/sky get stage kits because it is rwd, and has a different stronger tranny(im guessing i have no clue). you can probably put the sky stage kits on the balt sure but will it hold up?? #2 just because theyre continentals doesnt mean theyre the same as the LS's. if it had michelin tires does that mean it gets pilot sport 2's instead of their bargain tire for everyday cars? why assume just because its conti's that theyre the **** ones the ls's come with? if its the conti extreme or contisportcontact 3 theyre actually pretty good tires. #3 the tranny is maxed out at the cars power level because it costs too much to make them stronger. in the old days manufacturers took pride in their cars and made them as strong as possible. these days with computer modeling they only make them as strong as they need to be so they can make a better business case.

i dont see why they wouldnt offer an ss with an auto if they do it with the HHR. unless they consider the HHR more family oriented and are unwilling to compromise the balts image. hell at least make an auto sedan. all in all the car looks great but i probably wouldnt buy it.

it will be interesting to see how an LSD-equipped SS/TC fares on the autoX courses!

dang, now i'm thinking about selling my RSX-S and getting an SS/TC with my employee discount... for those who are GM employees, how much IS the discount?

how much power are the solstice / sky guys pushing out now? cause for ppl who wanna go past that 300whp which that last time i checked is what the solstice sky guys are stuck at..wouldn't it be better to just keep the ss/sc since u can go past that?..mind you yes you need mods but still

everything sounds good, most likely will trade the ls in on one when they hit the dealerships. and to any GM guys reading these posts, how bout some contingency programs, locally subaru and mitsubishi offer cash for people winning their class in autocross but noone can get the GM dealerships to step up.

I used to think that up until 1) the pilot cars started driving around detroit and 2 people that have driven them are starting to talk . I dont think a stage 2 car would get to butthurt , but I dont think it will hold it own againt a 08 . And especially not when the 08's can have full output in 1st and 2nd gears . Right now its 220 in first and 240 in 2nd @ WOT .

Nothing . U still push the clutch in , there doesnt need to be anything special in the trans to accomodate it .....the no lift shift coulda been done on the p12 LSJ PCM if it were capable . Its purely an electronic event in the pcm that acts like a 2 step . The electronic accelerator pedal tells the pcm the car is at WOT and a sensor on the clutch pedal will tell it when to hold the RPM when the pedal is pushed in .

.

Hey guys, I'm a lurker, well, I was... Anyways, the haters can drink their haterade, I like the turbo 'Balt. If the fifth-gen Camaro is a pig on the scales, I'll get the SS/TC instead.

hence why it wouldnt work.... because the lsj pcm is not capable of it as is...

errr , thats exactly what I did say . The p12 pcm wasnt capable , and the trans has nothing to do with this feature .

any word on how much the sedan will range and power wise is it equal to the coupe version? If anything I want the sedan, I like having the 4 doors myself.
