Reason it is probably stock, Is he couldn't afford doing any real modifications to it, Hence all the spray paint mods lol.

To me it looks like a kid owned it and doesn't know a damn thing about it and He prob drove it like he stole it.

Exactly what I did to my A4. I was 19, first manual trans, expected to only lease it. The thing was a tank, though.

Hahahaha. We will see how it goes tomorrow I guess. And keep everyone updated.

Also, talking about price. What would you guys say a fair price for it would be, being in excellent condition supposedly. Owner said theyve had a few people offer 10k but doesn't wanna go down that low. If I liked it. And everything checks out. I feel like I would offer 10800.

UPDATE: okay, so looked at the car. All looks good. Has a small touch yo spot on driver side door where a scratch once was. It is lowered an inch. The exhaust is stock, just has a chrome tip on it. Still has the cat and resonator. Don't see any signs of bolt wear on the bolts underneath.

Any additional thoughts ? The guy seemed to take care of it. And seemed concerned that I wasn't wanting to buy it to just beat the hell out of it.

Only thing that I seemed worried about is like others have said, the clutch being replaced so early. Meaning the original owner couldn't drive it. Or beat the hell out of it.

If it was beat on a lot. What would be the next weak link other than the clutch getting shot.

Compression test the car and if your able to drive it you should be able to feel if something is wrong with the transmission. Like others have said the person either didn't know how to drive, the clutch was defective or something of that nature, if you can get him to go down then you should be good to go

The transmission. However, if this owner put 41k miles on it with no power upgrades, I think trans problems are unlikely.

Yeah the thing would be to figure out the the current owner didn't do anything to the car and put it back to stock

Ah. Okay. I don't believe he did. I mean. Hes 22 years old. Unless he put the air box back in with no marks. Put it back to the stock tune. And put a carted downpipe back on the car. Which i find doubtful. Only because he seems like he doesn't know a whole heck of a lot about the car.

Well not many bolts on then intake and downpipe is a 20 minute job to replace, tune takes no more than 1 minute to change with hptuners

Hmm. Lol. Well I would love to just take his word for it but you can't ever tell with some people these days. Even if bolt ons were added. And it had a tune at one point. Does the really mean trouble for anything. I thought I read somewhere on here that someone just took their cobalt into the 500hp range on the stock clutch.

Its all in the tune and how you drive. Some guys are still no lift shifting with an aggressive tune. That blows transmissions.

True. This guy didn't even know what the lift shift was I don't think. I asked if he's ever messed with it. And he was telling me how he doesn't know how it works so he wouldn't ever do it. So I don't think that was the case.
