big dissapointment, all tc owners look
well today i wnet and after much haggling and going back and forth about my trade in value i got a respectable deal on my silver ss/tc. when i fired it up to pull out the salesman was eggin me on (he purchased the other ss/tc they had) so i revved it to about 4000 and dumped it and layed some rubber down. made it about 100 feet out of the lot and the check engine light came on and the car went into limited power mode. took it back and we hooked up the tech 2 in the service dept and found a fuel pressure regulator solenoid code. popped the hood and what a surprise! where the plastic duct comes over the motor directly under the plastic duct is the pressure regulator solenoid. its a grey connector on the regulator. well when i jumped on it the motor must have moved enough to pop the duct out of its holder and it broke the connector off the regulator.........wtf! so they gave me a rental . so im the proud owner of a ss/tc that i cant drive till the dealer fixes it. i hope they can get the parts sometime soon. might want to take a look and make sure the ducting is secure.

Why would u do that to this guys thread???

hey i know it sucks that it broke and i hope it gets fixed quickly but dumping the clutch on a brand new car before you even get it off the dealers lot is FTL...at least give it a little bit of a break in period

Guys its his car if he wants to lock up the e-brake and try to drift the damn thing out of the lot, Thats his choice. He started this thread to warn future/current tc owners of a possible problem. Not to get bashed for driving his car like its meant to be driven.

i didnt know the car was supposed to be launched at 4000k rpm's with less than 500 miles on it , do some research on a NEW car , before you take up for someone who is stupid !!

whatev...its his car...i was just making a point...i babied the hell out of my car for the first 1000 miles...did an oil change at that point and then gave it hell...*knock on wood* nothings gone wrong motor wise other than a cracked heat shield from accidentally wheel hopping too much on a rainy day...and ive put over 51,000 miles on it in 1.5 years

anyone who complains when something breaks when its BRAND NEW and requires a break-in period is NUTS.
yes but he is claiming the car is a dissapointment when he beat the hell out of it withOUT breaking it in.

we have a lot of problems with turbo solstices at work...esp if they sit for a while...takes like an hour to get em started
LNF's dont take to kindly to not being started
sorry to threadjack but i figured i said my piece earlier so heres my contribution to common LNF problems

yes its his car and he can do w/e he wants...
but its still lame to dump the clutch on a brand new car...period end of story

Eclipse boy?All Im saying is its his car, Dont force the thread off topic by bashing him. I think its pretty dumb myself but its his car if he wants to beat the hell out of it then let him do it, If he blows it up next time he will know better . But the problem he had has nothing to do with whether or not it was broken in or not, Which is why the bashing is pointless....
