BNR 2871 owners step in!!

i need more info on the BNR 2871 turbo before i throw this bad boy on. its currently sitting in my room, just waiting for additional funds for a BOV and stuff.

anyway, to people who actually have experience with this turbo, what should i expect? how hard was install/ tuning? and how does the car feel?

theres really not much info out on this turbo except in the BNR thread and there is only very little in that spread out over 83 pages or so. any help would be appriciated.

I just want a thread with info instead of sifting thru the 80 pages of the other one. Im pretty sure I know what to do now tho. Swap the turbo, hook up the bov, go get a tune, done.

if your looking for 400 whp is good as said by ccss3 if you're willing to push it you'd be able to get more .. but in reality it's probably good for 80% of the people on here.. i'm not sure why it doesn't sell more

I think a lot of people, myself included, are still waiting to see what comes of the ZZP EFR...mainly the price. Because if the ZZP EFR ends up being around or under 2k, I don't know about others, but I'll take that over the BNR.

The turbo is great. Ive had mine for awhile now spools like stock and you'll get 400whp EASY. Drewbroo dynoed 440whp and 475wtq on a e85 mix. Install is pretty easy just the oil line and coolant line can be a PITA other than that its a breeze.

while true i think the efr will always be harder to come by then the bnr due to other markets using the efr stuff ... i think bnr should offer a batmowheel upgrade .. then do the 2871 for 900 and the BmW for 1200 or so .. that would be damn good lol

I see everyone buy a big turbo kit just to hit 450whp do I figured 400 on this turbo for 1/3 the price is a good deal. Plus if I wanna keep up with a s252 or similar turbo balt I could just throw in some E.

It won't be under 2k. As much as it would be awesome if it was, i cant see it happening.

I need to do some searching on these turbos again. When i looked months ago i dont remember seeing 410+whp except a few people that pushed a ridiculous amount of boost through it.

I saw a video on youtube of a full bolt on e-85 stock turbo balt racing one with a bnr2781 on pump gas. The bnr cobalt just straight walks away with no problem. Ill have to find it.

They didnt push a rediculous amount. I think Drew was at 27psi to get to the 440 mark on E. Im at 24psi on 93 and its damn fast. I pull on my buddies fully bolted and tuned K04 on E. And that was before when I was at about 22psi and hadnt finished tuning. Its fun to see the look on an owners face when you just kept up neck and neck with his stock 2010 vette.
Bryan is a great guy. He builds these turbos to LAST. I was having a random smoking issue while at iddle if I had just ran the car hard. It was literally random, like once a month or so. Anyways, I contacted him and he said he thought that on my particular LNF my oil pressure as a little high at iddle. He sent me a a restricted replacement bolt for free. It solved my issue. I havent had that happen since. I think its a great upgrade for the money with almost no need to mod anything. The EFR is nice but it will not be under 2k...no way LOL
