That car is what we call a ringer. I bet if you leaned it out a little and added another couple degrees of timing to that particular car it would have made even more power.

i think i know the car he's talking about .. and that was tried and actually made less power.. if we're thinking of the same car.. the car has ALOT of data logging done with it with scanxl's real time logger.

If I go with the 2860, would it be beneficial to buy the Forge BPV with the green spring to replace the stock BPV? Or should the stock be fine.

yea i can safely say his car is making as much as it can in its current form.. john is meticulous about trying things out .. i'm 99% sure he tried running a leaner mixture and more timing and it made less power basically anytime the temp changes like 10-15 degrees he does a new log just to check everything out

i'm sure it's possible to pull a few more out .. but john is very thorough

I didn't realize he makes the RX kits. Had I known that, I'd have bought my turbo off him for the 6. I ended up with a Precision SC6262. 450bhp, here I come.

Yea, I remember him saying he and Vince tried .88 and then 17-18* and the car made less. Im not sure what Vince does different but I have to agree with Term just because MY personal experience on the dyno even with my own car showed me the samething. But I do understand how much John went thru with his tune so I know its the best it could possibly be as well.

I'm planning on a 2860. From all the discussion, it looks like the Forge can get sticky at ambient temps below 40°F (we get that a lot in my area). I don't know when someone will come up with a solution, maybe some kind of slippery coating or something, but 'til they come up with it, I think I'll be better off keeping it stock.

Something is wrong then. Mine has never stuck. I've mentioned it countless times now, green spring, lube lightly with Mobil 1 axle grease. Not a single surge event.

My buddy with the MS3 said his Forge BPV did that and you had to oil it occasionally. I did with mine as a precaution, havent had an issue tho!

win7 lol.

Who knows on the power. The E Blending skews the readings a bit and the dyno never does what you expect it to do lol. Best thing is to just go run it! Preferably somewhere he has run the car before.

The most detailed dyno tune I ever did started with stock timing, 21 psi and 0.84 PE Lambda, Car made 272 whp 334 wtrq. I then kept eveything the same except 0.86 lambda it went to 282 whp 338 wrtq, I then went to 0.88 lambda it went to 292 whp 342 wrtq. I then went to 0.89 lambda and it made 298 whp 345 wrtq. Then I tried 0.90 lambda it made the same power so I kept it at 0.89 lambda. I then added timing 1* at a time. It stopped making more power at 15-16* up top. Car ended up at 314 whp 360 wrtq.

I honestly found the samething with my own car at the first dyno session ever. I changed nothing but PE for the first couple pulls and gained at least 10whp a .1 of Lambda. I usually see peak power on most cars with 17-18* up top, over that without Meth or E hasn't showed a gain FOR ME. Just my observation.

This next time I go tho I will be trying the latest tune with .86 in the heavy spike/torque area and then trailing to .88 up top.

They need to speak up and let us know how it's going. I'm close to pullin' the trigger on this as well.

He means the first batch of 5 is spoken for. I put my order in early. Right now there's a delay at the machine shop, but I always have plenty of time to wait for the Right Stuff.
