LOL No worries man....flaming someone is basically giving them **** and talking smack about them on the forum or 'I told you so' kinda stuff.

No worries No one with a 2871 has posted anything so I do not know thier results. Member BPASS started a thread about him putting down the same numbers as well so thats two 2860 that didnt make what expected. We were hoping for 340-370. It just holds the power and doesnt fall on its face like the K04.

Yeah, I may see about trying to get my money back LOL It just doesnt live up to the advertised potential plus Ive had a nightmare of a time tuning it...better said, Nick has had a nightmare of a time tuning it
What I cant explain is that usually, on the LNF, whatever your flowing at the MAF represents closely the WHP you should be making. When I was on the K04 flowing 31 at the MAF I made 291whp. Im now flowing 37 so, theoretically it should be closer to 350whp....oh well. GO figure.
If I can get my flo back then I will put that in a fund towards the EFR from ZZP.

On a side note, my supertech 78lb valve spring kit is on its way lol

Yeah I mean if Nick has spent a ton of time tuning it and still isn't living up to the hype that it was said to give 380-400hp

I mean if that's what you dynoed ^ I would probably purchase one and run with it but it looks like it's a tad lower then expected

A 2860 was never supposed to get anywhere near these numbers I'm not sure where you got this from? All a 2860 was supposed to do was basically max out at around 350ish but effectively hold it and have a nicer powerband than the stock k04. It is basically a more efficient k04+ than anything else.

Now a 2871 was supposedly around the 380 - 400 range. Maybe that is what you are thinking about?

somethings not adding up man .. if you're flowing 6 lbs more .. that should be a healthy gain in WHP

not to say that you're lieing by any means just it's weird that you didn't gain really anything.. esp since you should gain 15 whp like you did just from switching to e85..

Im given to understand that the DYNOCOM is sorta like the mustang dyno and reads low. Even if that was true and you add the 15% or so its still only about 345whp which is not worth the $1000 pricetag of the 2860. Ive heard of similar experiences with this turbo and even the 2871 not making what it should. The TQ and power is held throughout the powerband unlike the k04 wich seems to peak and fall off. Still, dont know if that is worth the price. Needless to say, I am very dissapointed and bummed out. The car feels great on the street. It def doesnt feel like a 300whp car but thats what the dyno is saying. Oh well.
Comments, flames and suggestions welcomed LOL

Another buddy of mine with a tuned SS/TC at 22psi, 93, and only running bout 14* WOT timing made max 310whp by comparison. We dynod one right after the other. Same conditions, same dyno same temps.
Wow I feel bad for you man. My car made 363 whp 393 wrtq on a dynocom on the stock turbo at 24 psi and 17* of timing (They read slightly higher than a dynojet normally.

Are you accounting for any maf skewing?

And dynocom's read a tad high. Like 4% higher than a dynojet(this is what ive been told) so something is def off

Term- I know how much you made lol Didnt yours just peak at that HP and then fall off? This one at least keeps the power available to redline.

I dont think there is any MAF skew since we are using the new fueling window changes to run the blend without skewing the MAF.

You Live and you Learn

You got some gains out of the upgrade! Run somebody with a K04 with about the same hp/tq and I bet you'll like it more! I'm stock for now, i'm in FL if you want a morale booster, hit me up haha!

I thought the injection window changes just made it possible to make more power on E but the maf would still need to be skewed to keep the a/f in line

Yep my car made about 5.5% less power on a dynojet with the same tune so you are correct it is approx 4- 6%

I really don't get why you all keep calling this a 2860 when its a hybrid.... a real GT2860RS (disco potato) is good for a solid 350WHP. I made 334WHP360ftlbs on my built 1.8L Miata with the GT2860RS @ 25PSI and 9:1 CR. (Also had RC650 CC Injectors, and the kit was built by bell engineering)

Ive done that. I pulled on my friends TF tuned 22psi by about 2 cars, but the gain was in the top end. I hang with my friends FZ6 no prob, and Im behind my other friends zx6r by about four cars lol Not bad if Im hanging with bikes. Still doesnt explain why the car feels different on the road yet only put down 305whp. Maybe its the sustained torque Im feeling...??

Because pretty much everything about the 2860 IS a 2860. The center housing, the center rotating assembly, the exhaust and compressor wheels....ALL from the GT2860. All he did was machine the compressor housing and exhaust side a bit to make the wheels fit.

just run lower boost and put some higher comp pistons in there and call it a day. And also its machined to be like a 2860, but it is not a Garret GT2860RS dual ball bearing oil and water cooled turbo. (Which you can buy brand new for 1200.00, no core involved.)

Yeah it is non ball bearing but it is still oil and water cooled. BNR advertises the 2860 to be a 360bhp. Im nowhere near that. Remember, we cant go out and just buy a regular GT28. It wont bolt up. Thats the whole point to these upgrades, they bolt right back on.

I think they are using the flow charts from the GT2860RS

also the thing to be looking at is this turbo is more efficient then the stock turbo.. go crank the boost up to 26 psi and see what happens lol then you can hit things you couldn't with the stock turbo

If you look at the compressor maps, this turbo does not like that. Its honestly a downgrade, sorry to say but it is. Ive tuned a couple of these and both have dyno'd with HUGE disappointments. I was hoping to see a 340-350whp pull on PBass' car but wow was that session upsetting. 17pulls and 0 change from 6-7k. Choking massively! To put it in perspective, car made the same whp at 16psi and then 22 because of the choking up top.
