Maybe you are getting so far out of range it's shutting it down.
I had two 91 octane files for him. He originally had the factory sensors when I first tuned him on the stock turbo then he upgraded to the 3 bar sensors. I accidentally sent him the factory sensor file which he did a write entire on the get rid of the trifecta underlay. I realized what happened and sent him the correct file but he needs to do a write entire with it to correct for the map sensor scaling and torque scaling. He already tried a write calibration and no change. I believe this is the whole issue. I hope that is all it is. Crosses fingers.

We will see this afternoon when I get home. I think its the intake collapse. The elbow on the CIA Sri seems weak. A collapse would cause a super rich condition for a split second. I did a write entire this morning with the 3 Bar file. We will see I guess. I don't mind trouble shooting, I like learning new things.

I've also had the MAF freq limp me out over ~12,000 hz. Bigger diameter MAF cross section would fix that.
Also I am getting no codes

Yep MAF max delta is approx 12K Hz. Drew"s car hits around 11,300 Hz max on the stock turbo.

I didn't get a code when I relocated my maf, it just timing or whatever and sounded like butthole... but luckily term is a magical beast bent on world domination, he fixed it up with the quickness.

I don't remember getting any codes when my MAF freq spiked and limped me, but that was last year. I forgetz. It was when the intake was sucking water & I saw 13k HZ spikes on occasion with a MAF relocate to the cold CP.

I found a post on HPT of the table I was talking about above, Proportional Max, Desired Boost axis.

If the 3 bar file doesn't do it, ramp that scaling up to what you see for boost.

I understand that first hand, and gave it up.

Hmm you already did a write entire with the 3 bar file that makes me suspect the intake elbow as well. Normally all you need to do is the regular write calibration with the tune files from now on.

I am gonna try the intake elbow when I get off work today. I was almost able to squeeze it shut with my hands where it connects at the turbo. The stock turbo was flowing 30lbs VE on the last setup. The new turbo hits that much more violently at a lower RPM. So step 1: Change the intake coupler. See where that gets me.

Theorethically I can run open turbo intake side since I have the maf relocate anyways. That will be a quick check for collapse.

its just going to be for a short run down the street. Hopefully no birds fly in there. I might just throw a stock AB on just to be safe.

Yep you dont need an intake on your turbo just a filter to keep debris out really LOL.

At least a short coupler to help guide air into the turbo, I'm afraid it might cavitate without some straightening of the airflow. Term knows better than I.

Also one thing I noticed about the BNR2871, the intake side where you connect the intake to is smaller than on the K04. This might be why I am getting collapse. It might be creating a "pinch" in the coupler.

ROTFLMFAO. I had the intake off my 99 Dakota RT back when I first started driving. I was putting JBA shorty headers on. The next morning I put the truck back together and drove it. The throttle stuck nearly wide open. I was like WTF is wrong. I took the intake off and looked at the throttle body and there was a big ass toad stuck in the throttle body. His legs and ass were hanging out. He was smashed up badly but still alive. I will never forget that day for the rest of my life.

You would think the intake would larger on the 2871 not smaller.

It should be ok at WOT. Part throttle might be a little airflow disturbance.

I picked up a steel 2 1/2 -> 2 1/4 reducer. I am going to bullet proof it from flex. The inlet on the BNR 2871 seems to be a 2 1/4 not a 2.5.

Glad I sparked a funny memory. That's a good one.

Yeah I figured it out when my coupler wasn't tight on the turbo intake. The coupler has a clear bulge on it with the new turbo.
