And the dip is there on your car too, still something wacky with these turbos

I am glad to see this made the power we all thought it should be making, that part makes me happy.

to every single one of you who doubted me when I said the turbo was worth it.

I believe I told you all this turbo will make between 370-390 whp repeatedly (pump 93), depending on how aggressive the tune was. If a mechanical HPFP is ever made and we can run full E85 with this turbo, watch out.

The dip is exactly where I told you in the RPM band via PM weeks ago and looks exactly the same.

Its not as bad as the 2860 though that you sent me dyno graphs of.

I think I can make over 400 on the same mustang dyno. Also I think I got the sheet from my slow run. One of my friends that were there said my first run was 398/436. The She I got was just from the 2nd run. It was a big dyno day so naturally a clusterf***. I will go by there monday and see if I can get the printout from the good run.

If we got the HPFP reworked, 440-450 should be easy to get. If someone hops on a dynojet, they should make over 420WHP. There might be more left in the tune too, I am going to play with more timing tables next time I am on the dyno to do some comparison sheets.

420 would nice on your dyno.. however getting 400 whp and 440 wtrq basically makes this turbo actually a good buy .. i can't imagine how it will react with headwork and cams

also does anyone know how much psi you an push before you're going outside a good efficiency ? maybe bump it up a couple of psi just for fun/ some numbers next time lol

I knew that E blend on the 2871 was a beast when Tglem trapped 117 on street tires.

I've thought about using E blend instead of straight 93 for more power, but I would have to drive 20 min one way to fill up or buy some containers to keep the E in to mix.
The only way this would be feasible for me would be if I used it for race nights only as I do a lot of out of state driving, some time 11 hrs one way.

Supposedly we are going to get a E85 here in town some time this year, my ultimate goal would be an upgraded HPFP (hurry up ZZP) and straight E85

Once they get a more efficient HPFP made 450 on straight E isn't out of the picture.

I am just glad I did it on a mustang dyno, so I don't have to deal with the "so what would you have made on a mustang dyno" comments

So to recap:

2860 = not worth it.

2871 = sex.

Those numbers are my overall goal with the car. Anything beyond that is just unstreetable IMO unless 3rd gear roles are all you're into. Unless the EFR is priced pretty competitively with this thing...looks like I'm back on the BNR bandwagon. Still waiting for June for the work bonus though

At 28 PSI it should be well over 400WHP. They need to dyno more cobalts.

That same dip is found on stock K04 dynos too. Same area and same type of dip down and then recovery... Almost looks like valve train instability (valve float) but you would think it would rear its ugly head sooner and carry through the graph? Either that or it's another nanny limiting feature?

Drew,

Great power man. Can't wait to see how you do at the track

If Brian @ BNR does stop making the GM line, those of us who have the BNR 2871 will be in good shape (and the lucky few). Parts will be available through him, along with rebuilds.

I saw his whole operation and basically the custom 2871 parts are interchangeable between all the different BNR 2871 upgrades he offers for various types of vehicles.

Basically a plug n play operation.

Can you get Brian at BNR to get in touch with me, I would like to get on line with him with the results. I am going to redyno with another pound or two in some time, and want to make sure he can report some real results.

WOW! Nice numbers Drew! I cant wait to get mine in already! lol It feels like its been forever that I havent driven my car and its only been a week. Once again, really good numbers man. Once mine is on and tuned I will be posting numbers too
In the meantime, here are a few pics of my install of the supertechs over this past weekend. Let me just say, valve keepers suck ass! Pain in the butt to put back on

Halfway through with all the intake side done with the stockers on the back still there for comparo.

^^^ did you remove your head to install those? If not...how difficult was it? Do you need special tools or anything or can the basic handy-man do it lol?
