Part of the reason I'm still leaning towards the EFR is I don't want to have to run 26+psi to achieve my goal of 400-420 whp. I'm thinking it can be done at around 22-23 psi.

Congrats to the ppl running the bnr and making power tho

26 PSI is well within the efficiency range of the BNR. Its not overworked at all, just because you run a lower PSI on a turbo doesn't mean **** wont break. Have fun spending another 1500.00 to get the sale amount of power a few PSI lower.

Until official pricing is released we can only speculate. If the EFR comes in under $2k then its win. Figure Id spend around $1200 on the BNR PLUS I have to give up my stock turbo. Then I need a BOV, so figure around $250 for something quality. Then I need a bov flange welded to my pipe so say $75 for the flange and labor. Now were at $1525-Now what if I want to keep my stock piece? Whats the core charge? Id figure around $300 seeing as thats about what they go for online. So now were at $1825.

IF, IF, IF the EFR winds up being $2000-Seeing as a stock 6758 retails for $1400 Id think thats a pretty good guess-AND I now get to keep my stock turbo. If I wanted I could sell the stocker for say $200 and would end up paying the same as I would for the BNR and would have a turbo with a heck of a lot more tech put into it.

These are my thoughts and is all going to depend on what price point ZZP comes up with. Im not trying to start a pissing match. I think if the BNR was 1200 and you didnt need to give up the K04 then you would have a bargain. Time will tell. So far my patience has served me well on all my other parts purchases.

edit: drewbroo do you have a compressor map for the BNR(I cant find one) or are you basing the efficiency of of the regular 2871r map?

For a NEW Tial Q with flange kit its only $250 cut the hole on your IC pipe yourself and take the IC pipe to a welder to have the flange welded on for a whooping $20.

I'm anxious for the EFR also, but the difference is by the time the EFR comes out (speculation on my part is that it will be the beginning of next year), I will have already had my BNR 2871GT for at least 1 year, if not more if its delayed

Yeah, same here. I havent posted up on the thread anymore cause I didnt see anymore questions about it. On my end, everything is running well and havent had any issues with the turbo AT ALL. Its great. I want to move to a 50/50 mix soon and do some more tuning. This turbo is exactly what I wanted for my car

Core charge on the BNR is $300 FYI. Or $500 if you want a brand new one.

You won't be sorry man. A good tune and 50/50 mix should put you right where you want to be. I've read on this thread and on gmsc what your power goals are so you should be good.

Well until further info is released by ZZP this is the cheapest and most direct route for a "bolt on" option we have

headaches lol .. the outlet of the turbo hit the firewall couldnt clock the housing cuz the vacuum fitting on the housing would hit the manifold ... some modifications had to be done.. but i think it's on the car.

anyone thinking of doing this swap on an ion.. ask BNR to not weld the 3" extention on or if he can weld it at a 45* angle

i should be getting it back thursday or friday long as nothing else changes

Well, some growing pains are to be expected but glad that its getting worked out. Did he ask you if you wanted the extension welded on? Good to know that if someone uses it on an ION they should get it without the extended tip.

Keep us posted man! Ive been lazy on the tuning LOL I fixed my timing issue and I should have kept tuning after that but I have been busy with other stuff. Its fast enough for me for now

More info on the LHU Head swap ?

Are the cylinders and pistons the same in the LHU ?

Obviously the cams are different if it's got another HPFP, which it looks to me like that is exactly what it is ...

Or it's an intermediate fuel pump so 3 pumps to make it run .. LOL

Those of you with the BNR 2871GT, keep and eye on the exhaust manifold to turbo spacer copper gasket and spacer to turbo copper gasket.

When I took mine off turbo off today, both the gaskets had already started tearing and they were in really rough shape.

I would suggest 2 stockers for the spacer when (not if) you replace them.

LOL Yeah I didnt wanna say anything. I melted one of them like two days after having it on there! Well maybe not so much as melted but got it hot enough to where it blew out a small piece. I had a nasty exhaust leak lol I replaced them both with two stockers and all is well now.

@ PrincessTurbo

That thing on the head isnt an extra HPFP I learned. Its just an aux vac pump for accessories it turns out. The head and internals are the same as the LNF. Everything about the LHU is the same except for the slightly diff turbo and maybe the injectors since its a flex fuel vehicle. Oh, it also has a fuel composition sensor that auto detects what type of fuel is in the tank and even what percentage of E is in there. Also, it has a Delphi ECU whereas we have a Bosch. Vince said it was nicer working on the new Delphi's than the Bosch's lol I am wondering if maybe the HPFP on the LHU has been modded to flow more fuel than the HPFP on the LNF...or mabe its just the injectors like we all suspect. We wont know til someone swaps'em out and gives them a try

So, is there a forum for Buick Regal turbos where someone will help us out? Do you think I could go to a dealership and buy the new injectors? You guys mentioned that its the same head/ block. Do you think they changed the connections to the injectors since its a Delphi ECM?
