Boost Spike Tuned LNF

My buddy has a 08 LNF. Intake/DP/Muffler delete. Tuned. He has a problem where the boost gauge will spike 30psi. He had a bare wire on the MAF sensor that was causing the computer to not read on the MAF. I know its not actually making 30psi. We tried switching the MAP sensor on the intake mani and still have the same problem. Any ideas?

EDIT: I just remember he used to run a forge atmospheric BPV for a while. He ran this WITHOUT a tune.

Does he have 3 bar map sensors? Above 24 psi the car can't really tell what boost you are hitting so it "guesses"

He is on stock MAP sensors. I told him he would need 3 bars. But he said the tuner told him he wouldn't need them

I never needed them and I spiked 30 psi on the k04 and the ZFR. However, they do help when trying to troubleshoot this issue.

Who is his tuner? Best bet would be to hook up a manual boost gauge and see what pressure he is actually hitting

I forget who his tuner is. I told him to hook up a manual boost gauge as soon as he was having the issue. He still hasn't done anything

Forgot to add

When I hooked up my manual boost gauge, I was actually hitting 27 psi.

Yeah, time to get a manual boost gauge

can get one for 25 bucks at harbor freight. Just to see what pressure he is hitting

or buy 3 bars

^^ I would start there also, his tuner should be able to see what exactly is causing his issue.

besides the bpv he hasn't added anything else to the car that it isn't tuned for? No lights on the dash i'm assuming ? kinda surprised it didn't trigger the cel for that bare wire.

Measured on a Dyno jet or mustang Dyno?
You running e47? Or e85? Because you would be hard pressed getting close to that on gas. Or are you talking motor hp? Who tuned you.

He doesn't run the BPV anymore. He did have a CEL for the MAF but when they "fixed" the wire issue it went away. He only has a CEL for the catless DP now.

I will get a picture of how they wire it. I personally don't think it was done right.

They sent a bunch of logs and couldn't figure out the issue. Im the third party here. He comes over my house when the car runs like poop and ask me to help lol
