Is there a way to test if this part is not working properly?

I hope you weren't running it the way it currently is in the picture. It sure isn't going to do much in it's current state.

OK good. lol

The original pic you posted looked like there was no vac/boost source going to the solenoid, with just a line going to the bpv. I was thinking, well, that explains a lot now doesn't it. haha

No. I tried, and the hose from the solenoid to the tank is stuck. And I mean stuck. I seated row 300 for reps and was pulling on that hose with my weight against the bumper, that hose didnt budge.
I was going to try to bypass it and see if anything changed. I am thinking I may just cut the tank end and route it. However, I will never be able to undo the "mod" without buying a new solenoid if it makes things worse tho.

Try skipping the vac tank first, but iirc you can run the bpv directly to the manifold.

Grab a set of pliers and gently twist the line on the nipple. The fitting and hose design you pull and it puts more tension on the fitting, but if you twist and gently pull it should pop right off.

I had the same experience with those hoses. Take a flat blade and gently pry up on the hose and then spray some soap under it and twist it around and should pop right off.

Awesome.

I will try both of those things individually tonight

What should I do about the line that goes to the lower CP when I attempt to try the BPV off of the manifold only?

Plug it off somehow or cap the nipple on the CP.

When i was having problems i deleted the tank but i didnt really do much in my opinion. Also did the connect the bypass directly to the manifold it kinda work for a bit i tried it but it wasnt my solenoid that was bad it was my tb. I have a solenoid for sale if you need a spare

I'm gonna mess with it today. The inconsistency of my BPV makes me wonder.

Eddie, I'll let you know.

Took the vacuum box out of the system and no change (kind of figured this).

I adjusted the wastegate maybe half a tune since it was not quite easy to do. I made the rod a tad shorter. I also took about the Forge BPV and found the yellow spring inside of it. Everyone said that spring causes issues, so I installed the green one, lubed the valve, and put it all back together. It was also pretty much dry and the grease that was in it was more like a paste.

The MAF failing seems to have stopped, I have not been able to get it to do it. The knock is still there. My exhaust shield is super loose under the car, so I am going to fix that tomorrow.

I am going to pick up some fittings and remove the boost solenoid from the system to see if that clears things up.

I changed the oil and it was black as can be; also a quart low. It may have been low from being in there too long, but my other thought is that the turbo is using oil. I didn't feel excess shaft play on the intake side when I took the BPV off, but maybe on the exhaust side?

lol that's ur only issue? take a knife and cut the hose the long way on the solenoid then pull it.

Term and john had it right as always. It's actually gentle that makes it slide off.
There is not enough hose up re attach it of you cut it.

Man, I don't know if you have the worst luck in the world or if you are making your own problems.

PS.

To test the boost solenoid in question, remove it from the system.
Run the BPV off of the manifold.
Cap the line to the lower CP.
Do it with the vacuum box not in the set up.

If the issue clears up, solenoid is bad. If not, put it all back and look elsewhere.
Or, you know, go pay GM to just throw parts into your car instead like suggested above me...
