control arm bolt broke

control arm bolt broke

Yep today on my way home from work one of my control arm bolts broke in half leaving threads in side it so I cant get them out. It was the front bolt that bolts on the frame. Well I am going to get it toed to the dealership tomorrow


do you guys think the dealer ship will cover this for free?

How did you break it? You must have had the car wheelhopping pretty badly to break that bolt.

Yeah, either wheel hopping bad or majorly overtorqued from factory/defect in bolt. If you cant get them to fix it, I'd be willing to bet a 1/4"-5/16" backwards drill bit would remove it. Very simple to use as well. It starts cutting into the metal backwards and the force of it cutting backwards turns the thread part of the bolt out.

I might do this! Would the dealership have a bolt in stock? My life kinda sucks right now because I wake up for work at 6am and get home at 6:15pm i might just suck it up and do that.


I was not doing anything crazy I was pulling on to the street from a store to a red light.....when I was almost to a stop it broke so I drove it 30ft or so to a parking lot, and the bolt was broke in the middle of the road.

I feel like chevy should help me on this

any one know where I can get the part number for bolts so my roommate can pick it up y I am at work?

Not sure, but you can call any local dealer, explain the item, and they can have them waiting to be picked up ready to go
