you got lucky you didnt severely mess something up. hopefully you checked your timing while the covers were off. you should ALWAYS double check your work and whenever you do timing i always triple check it.

If u pulled the injectors u have to replace the injector seals and that needs a special tool to get them to seat properly

Did you crank it over a few times without the coil packs on, e.i. get oil throughout the engine before any extended cranks or any ignition.

Pull the valve cover and take a quick look, or if you have a bore scope that makes it even easier

When u timed it did u hand crank it a couple revolutions just to make sure everything turned ok... The tapping could that be a bent valve?

I dove head first into my build made some mistakes learned a lot had a few friends here locally to help out and a few guys on here helped as well. if it was a fubared tensioner your car wouldnt fire Or it would fire and run like complete garbage because there would be no tension on the chain.

chances are you bent a valve or something OR if it is rod knock something other then what you did caused it to happen. ecotecs rarely spin bearings and when they do its because of diluted oil or something down that road.

i hope you specked the crank before just throwing a rod bearing on andcalling it a day. usually when rod bearings go the cause damage and theres usually metal in the motor.

Yea I jimmy rigged actual used 220,400, n 800 grit sand paper used the bottom part of the connecting rod to gauge the movement, I say I did a good job it moves a Lil more free then the other rod bearings. NOT A permenant fix sumtin to get me to n from werk til I get motor replaced so no big hp numbers or pulls
Wasn't anything crazy far as metal shavings I never drove the car jus started it an inspected the noise but so far so gud
