Most lnf guys if they are going to push the car hard, will end up going to a gen 3 block. Fueling has gotten better recently with the introduction of the guys using either a lt1 pump or even better if you have cash, ZZP's pump. With opel injectors and the bigger fuel lobe cam you can now go above 500whp without meth or a 5th injector, especially if you are running e47 or 93.

Do you know much about the aero on these? Rear mid-engine + rear wing and no splitter or dive planes up front has me curious about the handling. Is that hood creating downforce? The radiator is mounted at an interesting angle.

I do not know how the down force is except from what I read on the forum, and by those accounts it does seem to need more down force in the front. DF has talked about coming up with a split wing as part of the front body/hood but that does not exist yet. I was looking at some of the Exotec front wings and I think something could be made with one of those.

I was thinking something like this, where it is a split wing but still attaches to the bottom of the radiator opening. Of course everything changes once you have the thing in front of you, but this would be the basic idea.

Car went out for powder coating. should have it back in a week or so. I decided to go with silver metallic for the chassis and gloss black for all the brackets, floor pans and gas tank. I wanted to go with a candy color but that would have taken another 2-4 weeks and my son has to go back to college soon. I have really enjoyed doing this with him and that experience means more to me than the color.
On another note I am considering offering these as a turn key. I really enjoy building it and I figure that there are people out there that would like one that either don't have the background to build one or don't have the time to put in.

My experience with Exocet cars is you won't have a market for turnkey. As in, you'd have to take a loss to sell it. Only way to get around that is to have an agreement before you start building the car. The more kits DF sells, the more used ones start to turn up for sale and your market will disappear. It's already happening with the Exocet. They never get back what they put into it. It would be an enjoyable hobby, though.

Yea it may be short lived, but they can't fill the orders they have for them now so maybe at least do what is out there for now. It would all be on a pre-order basis. although having 2 or 3 of these laying around would be fun!

They said that the time was in waiting for the powder to deliver. they have had some 2-4 week deliveries in the past and I didn't want to risk it.

They told me that once you get up to 30 MPH you stay dry even in a rain storm. That is until you have to stop somewhere. I guess if you used the track frame with a full windshield you could modify a lock and ride plastic roof like on a rzr or ranger and keep pretty dry that way. I may have to try this now.

Update - today the shop called and it is ready to be picked up. I also got my license plate and registration card today so I am road legal when I put it together. I just hope all the colors look good together. the shop didn't have many colors in stock to choose from.

Unless they are not experienced at multi layers, they should have been able to offer you any color you wanted. Prismatic has over 6500 colors and delivers to your door in 2 days. I have never heard of a place only offering a color they stocked unless they are going out of business.

Maybe they only bought a couple colors in bulk to save cost or got a sick deal on certain colors.

Here are a few pictures.
I could have ordered other colors but I am trying to get this project done before my son has to go back to college. That means more to me than the color choice and now seeing the silver I like it.

Here is the progress from my first day of assembly. I got the bulkhead and floor pan rivited on along with pulling the rad hoses through the frame rails (nest to impossible). started putting the steering on until I ran into an issue. I can't get the slide shaft to slide and it is too long right now. so today the press at work will either free it up or break it!

Time for some catch-up. Day 3 was Saturday spent 8 hours working on the car. this brings the total up to 12.5 hours.
I got to the point of startup and I had nothing. would not even click.

Day 4 - spent most of the day trying to find what ended up being a bad ground. once I installed the Subframe (because I gave up on the no start issue) it completed the ground and it fired right up.
I am now at a point where I am waiting on a few back ordered parts to do much more. I will clean up wire harness tonight and maybe tinker putting the coil over together tonight.
