Front turn signal issue

Front turn signal issue
Anyone ever have to replace the front turn signal socket? I can't find anywhere that sells the part except for GM, and GM only sells it with the lens as a complete assemble for about $225. Kind of steep for what should be a $10 fix.
So far I have not had any luck at a junk yard either.
I had the moisture in the headlamp issue and so I caulked around the seal (between the lens and back half of the assemble). When I put the bulb back in, it would not work. A new bulb did not solve the problem. It does work intermittently, so there is obviously a short somewhere. I tried cleaning the contacts, and of course broke a few of the small plastic tabs.
The turn signal socket has 5 wires. Most sockets on line show only 3 or 4 wires (not 5).
I searched on line and various forums. A few people had the problem, but no one posted a solution.
Thanks!

Base_waves - I just sent you a PM for more details.
rrob - the bulb is 3457 (amber), and all the sockets shown on-line for 3157, etc., all have 3 wires. I need one with 5 wires.
Thanks for the info.
