Help! I just put Valvoline Synth in my car...
Earlier today I made the mistake of adding Valvoline full synthetic in my car. I didn't feel like doing it myself, place I usually go to was closed, dealership closed, so I made the mistake of going into a Valvoline shop (didn't really realize that all they carry is valvoline oil).
So long story short...is this Valvoline oil going to cause damage immediately?
I've been looking into getting one of those top side fluid removers so I can change my oil at my rental house(no garage access), should I order one now and wait until I get it to change to Mobil 1? Should I throw $85 more at it and change it immediately? I have about 110 miles of interstate back to work today(I simply have to), then a 45min commute 3 days next week, so I'll be doing a decent amount of interstate driving. I'm a pretty conservative driver and will most likely not even get into boost.
Any input is helpful...kind of a controversial issue but pretty much everywhere I look I'm finding the general consensus that Valvoline is horrible.
edit: thought this was in my sig but I have an 08 w/ full bolt ons, CSS3 tune(ehh), about 70k miles

Nope engines dead now, just buy a replacement.
In all seriousness it's fine, you can find horror stories about every type of oil, unless you get UOA you don't honestly know as long as it's API-SN which I'm fairly certain Valoline synthetic is its fine

Welp took her to the junk yard and sold it at scrap price. Lol nah....
Thanks for the advice guys, I'll just change it after my next paycheck. If anyone's had any experience with the top side fluid removers please chime in...worried it will leave some **** at the bottom of the oil pan. Probably just something I'll have to try, luckily I can put it to use on my motorcycle if it doesn't do the oil well!
I think most of the old threads I was reading were from when people had warranty and apparently it would have voided warranty. So that's why allot were negative.

Your tune is whats going to cause your engine damage if it hasent already not your oil
Ive put amsoil, redline, mobile 1, pennsoil, and some other ones in my car and after 90k im good still. Theirs brands i prefer but you will always here good and bad about every single brand out there. Yes some are definately better then others BUT if they were as bad as all of these genius forum engineers claim they are they wouldnt be on shelves or in business

I would love to see how GM determined what brand of oil was being used. They can test for the weight of oil, but I don't believe there are significant differences to determine what brand was used.
Don't remove the oil, just run it like a standard oil change interval. I've ran a few oil changes on the exact oil you are freaking out about, mine engine is fine.

Valvoline full syn is just as good as mobil, meets most of the same gm codes as mobil. Will it be as effiencent as some other oils? maybe not. will it damage anything? No. just change your oil like normal, 3.5-4.5k is my personal recommendation depending on driving habits
