Thanks! If anyone can verify that the 2.2 K&N filter will work with the 2.0 SS/TC, I would greatly appreciate it!

I think you may have to be the one to verify it. You might be able to find that K&N filter at a local store (autozone/etc). Just go there and see if it will fit in, although be careful with the upper housing as there has already been one failure. [see top of this thread]

Have you already tried this filter in a SS/TC or are you just going off of what you know about these two engines? I plan on picking one up and giving it a shot...I'll let everyone know what I find out.

Just going off that the 2.0 and the 2.2 both have the same lower filter housing [same part number] (which the filter sits in, so basically they fit the same filters), so if a K&N fits the 2.2 it will fit the 2.0.

Thanks! I'll let you guys know! It might be a week or two until I get around to it, but I'll be sure to let all you SS/TC owners know!

33-2311 is the k&n filter that fits. go to autozone and ask if they have 2311 k&n filter. They will know exactly. Yeah everyone please learn something from my 40$ mistake. much thanks again to cobalt ss/tc for being informative instead of critisizing.

That info is also in the owner's manual when it talks about changing air filters. Read it, people!

i am not a fan of most cold air intakes. i prefer short ram air intakes or maybe a form of cowl induction.

sorry to bring such an old post to the top. I started a thread about this in another section, and then finally came across this thread in the search. Looks like my problem is identical to this one. Just wondering what this hose does? And what would happen if I was driving for a month or two with this broken?

Don't worry..won't hurt your car driving with it broken off. It's the PCV hose that recirculates blow by (exhaust and unburned gases that contain some oil vapors) from the crankcase back into the intake to be burned off.

If you didn't seal up your intake your engine is taking in unmetered/unfiltered air I would think. Probably not good.
Happened to me too/warrantied.

Just to revive this thread again, can we delete this hose and run like some sort of push in filter or something?

you could probably run a breather filter off of it. I've seen that done on alot of rice looking cars but it would work. Just plug the hole on the intake side.

The only downside I could imagine to using those little filters is an oil blow by is going to either clog up the filter or spew oil and grease onto your hood or across the engine.
