HHR SS. previous Sedan SS/TC owner. i kind of want some boost back in my life!

well, i sold my SS/TC sedan like 2 years ago. picked up an impala since it was more practical for long road trips and stuff to my cabin.

well, i picked up a 2003 cavi ecotec. well after signing back into CSS for some info on this new beater of mine and after a 1 1/2 absence on here, its got my thinking how much i miss some boost in my life.

and then i started to look twords HHR SS's. theres a couple around me for a decent price, but id have to sell my impala first.

first off: the AUTO HHR's, i didnt know they made them in 5 speeds. i could only imagine that the 5 speed would be more fun to drive?

also, i could imagine its the same story with the 2.0T's, if its tuned or had been tampered with and the back story of these cars.

the one closest to me if a 4speed Auto, 93K, GMS1, hahn catback, catted DP. looks extremely clean. person is asking 8900$

what are the price ranges of these things with say 50k miles, bone stock?

similar to turbo'd cobalts maybe?

any info would be much appreciated!!

Everything around me is generally more expensive. The cheapest 5sp car I've seen was 8900 with 100k. On average Id say they run 10-12k. Yes you can find deals out there but that's just my experience.

I'm thinking more about these as well for a more daily experience. I kinda want the auto since I have a 07 Ss already, and I just want something to put around in so I'm in for info lol

8-12 k seems to be the price range of the tc's so with the sedans being a little higher depending on mileage so I'd say it comes down to how well it was maintained

I think it all depends on where you are at and what the person wants. We have a lady that comes to the shop I work at regularly that is looking to sell her HHR SS. It's auto, and has a K&N airbox, GMS1, and a catless downpipe with full exhaust(idk which one). It only has 56k on the clock, and she is looking for 12.5k obo. To me her asking price isn't too far off what I would be willing to pay if I wanted to buy it, especially since I have it's service history in our computer system for the past 5 years.

There are always deals, it just depends on how much you want to spend/how impatient you are with finding the right one for you.

Edit: Never asked her if it was tuned other than GMS1, I'll have to ask next time she is in.

i think the HHR SS's are pretty sweet, i just dont know how id like the Automatic trans.

i would be driving this HHR SS year round if i do find one, but i have to take care of a few things financially first. but i think one of these things would be bad ass.

I tuned an auto HHR a few weekends ago; it is odd having it shift without blowing off lol. Honestly, the trans is pretty smooth and they still get up and go. They launch pretty well for a FWD.

thats where i would be stuck, i dont know if id want to go auto or 5 speed. an auto would be easier, and my girlfriend could drive it. but i kind of miss driving a 5 speed. i think it would be a perfect vehicle and fun to drive

anyone know the ride differences from an HHR/SS to a SS/TC sedan? that was one thing that kind of bugged me about my sedan, it rode like crap.
