how to add Hp ànd keep drivetrain warranty

Hi I have a 2009 SS completely stock. Im looking to get some more power out of it and im looking to keep my powertrain warranty as well. A friend recommended a tune and if I take it in to the dealer have it flashed back to stock. Is this possible? And what are some other ways to improve the horsepower but keep the warranty?

GM makes a stage kit for the cobalt ss that will up the horsepower and keep your warranty. You buy the sensors and then take it to a dealer so they can reflash(tune) your pcm. Search GM stage 1 on here and you will find a million threads on the subject.

intakes and other bolts ons are probably not worth the money unless you're looking for a different sound.

According to all the literature gms1 DOES eliminate learndown. However your bolt one aren't really tuned so fuel trims and such will probably be off with bolt ons.

They didn't say anything about it because it had nothing to do with the problem. There was no reason for them to look. Put a crappy tune on there and blow it up and they will look closer.

Never said they were stupid. Porus block is a known problem that has nothing to do with the tune.

Warranty stuff incorrectly and the dealer risks their own problems later. Or possibly that problem also had nothing to do with the tune. It's probably alsopart of the reason why some dealers fight so hard to avoid warranty work.

we can hook it up to tis2web.....which is the program we use to flash the computers. It will give a current calibration # that is in the module.......and if it is an aftermarket program it will say "unknown" or give some random # that won't match any of our calibration #'s.

dealers avoid warrenty work cause the have to get approval from gm to do the work on major cases. also the techs hate doing most of it cause they get raped on warrenty times. there is no tail like retail work.
