Inside rotor rusty?

Jacked my car up to change the oil and noticed inner side of the rotor facing the engine on my passenger front brake is rusty. Every other one is fine.

Now would this be a caliper seized up of would the pad just be worn down and not making contact? I can't see it being seized as the rotor side facing the outside is fine.

Also I have had wobbling steering problems while braking. I assumed from others it was warped rotors and was going to do the front pads and rotors when the weather brakes in spring. Do I have to assume I need a new damn brembo caliper as well? Stock 09 Ss.

I would assume you would need another caliper

Oh boy. I hate that response. 300 dollar caliper lovely lol. Perfect time. Any chance it could be something else. Like possibly rust in the siding pins stopping the pad making contact? The side facing away from the car works fine as I had surface rust from rain and the pad took care of it.

Yeah give that a try could be the pins are seized or that side of the caliper needs a rebuild

If the slide pin is seized keep spraying pb blaster on it, and let it sit for awhile. Then try turning it with a wrench or socket, also a little tap with a hammer depending on how bad it is. I've brought seized calipers back to life on friends cars that lack proper maintenance, youll just need patience and elbow grease. Service your brakes more often.

Haven't had the car long enough yet really to find out about this. Either the owner lied about redoing the brakes (I think he should had the rotors spun) or this all happened in one buffalo winter. I just did the 2nd oil change on this thing so I'm still figuring out **** and I'm not a mechanic at all. Could the inner pad be down to the point of no contact? But it doesn't squeal like a pig. Just not too thrilled about possibly having to throw a new caliper in with the brake job with funding issues ATM.

I doubt the pads are that worn but it's supper easy to check just take off the caliper and check the condition

If the piston is seized it's a pretty simple rebuild and cheaper than a new used caliper
