Installing a pcm.
So I purchased a tuned pcm. Long story short. I could not seem to find out how to swap the ecu on an lnf.
I noticed the sc and other cobalts do not have those little tabs I guess you can call them. Rather not screw up the pins. Lol
Does it just wiggle out like a typical plug or do I have to use the tabs on top to "unlock" it first.
Thanks css

The Plugs are cam locked, there is a lever on the plugs that you pull up on which will lift your plugs off of the pins, go easy and slightly lift up on plug as you are lifting the lever, the PCM slips down in a cradle that has a tab on each side to lock it in.

It has plastic tabs on the top pull them to the opposite side becareful tho, the connector will start lifting after that. Don't forget to disconnect your battery first tho. You will probably have to do the relearn

Thanks. I know I'm looking forward to doing the relearn. I'm surprised zzp didn't mention a how swap since they already have the relearn.
Going to try and do it tomorrow since it will be in the 50s instead of the 40s. I know how brittle plastic is the colder it gets. Thanks again

I've always disconnected it if I remember correctly, I usually just disconnect it and the take the pcm off within the same minute. But hey rather be safe than sorry but yeah you would maybe be fine without disconnecting it.

Finally was able to install it today. Fired up on the 4th time.
One thing I noticed. My oil life went from 98% to 84% when it started.. Could that just be the percentage that was on the pcm when it was sent to me since it was one of refurbished refundable ones.

Where is the mpg and trips saved too then? I would think it would be where the oil life is because all those are able to be reset. Idk lol. Hopefully some others chine in that may know.
