It would seem that way, but being that I financed 15,500 and need to stay around that payment I would need to get the car around 20-21 or so. I actually called a dealer and got them to $21,100 with RPD, LSD, USB, Red/Ebony Interior, Sunroof, Spare Tire, etc. The only option it doesn't have it the aero wing which I didn't want anyway).

This is now the TRILOGY, but seriously. Fellas, as you know, a lady fell asleep at the wheel and slammed into the front of my 3 week old, 1256 mile Cobalt SS/TC that was parked.
I just got off of the phone with the other lady's insurance company and they offered me
$21,987.82 for the car
+1,313.82 in tax
+55.00 for transfer of tag fee.
$23,265.82 GRAND TOTAL offer from insurance company.
While this doesn't put me upside down on the loan, do you think I could get more? I was looking for used 09 Cobalts in my area (50 mile radius using me zip of 19078). There are about 1-2 used ones, one with 8,000 miles and the dealer was looking for $20,995 (mine had 1256 miles on it).
I'm thinking my only option to fax in to the insurance company for "comps" are new Cobalt prices.
What are your thoughts? Should I strike for rebuttal against the insurance company or settle and call it a day. The headache is still here, but not as bad as before, but I'm honestly getting tired of dealing with the insurance companies, etc.
Let me know fellas. Thanks again.

Sounds like they're being fair with you. I had my car six weeks before a furniture delivery truck blew through an intersection and cremed my 'balt.
My insurer and the other guys is the same, so there were both some conveniences and complications. They ended up repairing my car and picking up a rental (logged about 4000 miles on the four different car I went through) during the seven trips back to the body shop making the car "new" again. All told, they've spent many times more money taking care of the medical side of things...
Edit: my input on the used cars with 8000 miles on them -- after visiting several car dealers 13k seems to be the going trade-in offer. Just goes to show you the US auto industry is still stuck in the "old mentality" of selling cars; high profit margin, low volume. How on earth do they expect American consumers to pay an $8000 markup on a used car?!?

I was actually looking at getting that one but the dealer didn't want to do anything for me for the trade in. Now I'm looking at a rally yellow one.

Just take the money, you could be getting much less than that. The advice above about showing comps or new cars is retarded. You're going to **** yourself in the ass. Take the money and call it a day.

Thanks for all of your help man, I'm looking to get into a cobalt by Monday at the latest. I found one here with RPD, USB, LSD, Low-rise and sunroof with red/black interior combo that I'm interested in.

That's a good deal, just walk into a dealership with that info and tell them the situation. They want to sell one and you want to buy one so I bet they would help on that side of the deal. Go right to the service manager.
The dealership will see $$$, they would work with ya and if they don't walk out go to another dealership.

Stop being a *****! Grow a pair and a brain...most insurance companies are scum and you HAVE to sue them to get anything from them...odds are they will settle out of court in your favor.

Doesn't matter. Any good insurance company would give him his new car value for it...

Yup, Victory Red as well. There was a sport red tint that was for sale, but it had the high-rise and the black and white interior without RPD and the dealer never got back to me.
This one has basically every option except for the high-rise and an ash tray and lighter combo! I'll be picking her up tomorrow and be sure to take some pictures!!
