I called my dealer a few days ago just to see if they would still honor my warranty if i put this k&n intake on, and the service manager said i would 100% void my powertrain warranty. Im completely stock and just had plans to get this intake, honestly to get some more sound out of the car. But now im afraid of losing my warranty. It really is complete bs. Anyone else's dealer's as strict as mine?

I was looking and much more serious about buying a Cobalt in the early spring of 2009, but the local dealer gave me this kind of line, and in the end I did not buy because I knew I would eventually want to do an aftermarket exhaust...
realistically, the way warranties work, is that if something breaks, and it can be legitimately tied to the aftermarket part, then that service work will not be covered by warranty;
You just need to ask around to find a dealer that is interested in getting your work.
I'd suggest finding another dealer, and going straight to the service managere to ask him/her - if they want ot have a more active service department, then they shouldn't be black balling you just because
btw, that locla dealer I told you about;
the last time I had gone in there in hopes of clarifying their standpoint on what aftermarket parts can or cannot be installed to keep drivetrain warranty... sitting on the shelf between the manager and I was the dealers copy of a magnaflow exhaust catalogue;
I aksed of that brochure meant that they will install Magnaflow kits, and still honor hte warranty - he looked at me straight in the eyes and flat out said;
"No, if any aftermarket parts are installed on the car - the warranty is void."
I agree with you - that's a complete BS stance for any dealer to have.
time to find another dealer.

Yeah I used the make an offer and it was accepted! That sucks if he is out all ready cause that is a really good deal. Maybe send him an email back saying if he was to keep them at that price he would sell a whole lot more!!! Also do you think he would let ya pre order one at that price untill more come in?

Well I know that my source is out - has been for over a week. Since he had the majority of the run I suspect that everyone is sold out. There will be another run made but it won't be out for at least a month.
I will also say that I have mine on my car and this piece is totally worth it...

Back on June 14, I got an e-mail from K&N stating that their batch would be completed around 3 weeks from then. So probably looking at the first week of July-ish if things hold constant.

installed last night. freaking love it! the sound is so aggressive, works really well. i would recommend this intake thus far however its only been 1 night and only had time to do 1 or 2 decent pulls in 2nd. Also i have no way of data logging this intake but followed the instructions regarding filter position and all appears fine

oh just wait. I dont drive my car much at all so it took it a while (week or so) but after it learns it...you can tell/feel a slight difference. Now at even slight gas pedal movement you can hear the bpv and turbo spool. sucker is loud. I heart this intake
