Question In the market for a LNF SS... What do I look for?

Yes, again, I am looking. I'm so ******* bored with my G5. I need a DD that has some spunk plus I'd like to own something with a turdbo.

Anyway, is there a certain checklist besides normal car stuff I should look for on these cars? What is a common problem with them, and what options make a car more worthwhile? I noticed all LNF cars have LSD/brembos, at least I think.

There is a 2009 SS Sedan near me that is bone stock, 1 owner, 140k miles. Typical curb rash on wheels and some chips in paint, but its clean

OUCH

$6000 is the price. Whats the $$ range for these cars? Sedans are worth more right?

Thanks all

It is autotragic. Plus 4 lug... too much work. Easier to buy a SS

the sedans are rare because they were only made 1 year but most people dont know what they so they usually go for the same prices as the coupes. i would offer that guy 5k for that car lol.

I have to be a cobalt enthusiast to buy it:

This is not a forced sale and I am not desperate for cash, but I am serious about selling it to someone who has sincere interest in owning a 2009 Cobalt SS turbo sedan. I'm willing to negotiate on the price with a buyer who I think will appreciate and enjoy the car as much as I have.
Give me some cool cobalt slang to tell him

Going to look at it next weekend

just tell him you know they only made the cobalt ss sedans for one year. and out of the sedans the black is the most popular color (929) were made haha. then tell him they made 15 yellow ones and as of right now i think 4/5 are totaled so theres only 10 yellow left haha.

Check to make sure that it has the G85 option (limited slip diff). Look in the trunk for the option list.

It looks very clean, unmodified. Ask for maintenance records.. And I would expect to drop in some money for maintenance. CABS, struts(unless changed), Brakes, Fluid changes etc.

I would offer 5 and meet somewhere in the middle.

Not all LNF's have LSD. Look for G85 in the trunk to see if it does.

I literally just replaced everything on. It has a brand new motor, turbo, clutch, tranny. literally everything lol

but if you look at the classifieds on here you will see it. It will probably be a little out of your price range.

ok cool I was under the impression that LNF cars all got LSD. I'll look for the G85 option.

Yeah maintenance is typical. Just nothing major. I looked at a LSJ that was beat to **** and he wanted 5k. lug nut stud missing, dents, chips, locks didnt work, lights didnt turn off... grocery list of things. Front tires bald.. lolol

EDIT:

see if he had the timing chain/ spark plugs replaced yet, if not offer him $5k. Wheels curb rash looks aweful but you could turn it into a small project. Polished aluminum factory LNF wheels looks really good.

Check for CELs. test drive the car and make sure it makes at least 15-17 psi. If it makes more, its probably tuned.

It sounds to me like a pretty good deal.. I would go for it!
But just put aside some cash because of the mileage. timing chain, clutch etc..

Well. I have 3 people interested in my G5 already. I'm shooting for 5k for it LOL so if I can equally trade my shitbox for this sedan I'd laugh.

What tensioner kit should I get?

OEM. never replace it with anything but OEM. I would get the upgraded bolt that (Jeff) mongorat sells.
