Motor Mounts

Alright, I couldn't really find a whole lot in terms of motor mount opinions; it seems like everyone goes with TTR.

So my question is: ZZP motor mount and rotated trans mounts, or TTR?

Powell race parts also offers a nice set, can't go wrong with either.

I have ZZP's installed right now.. and I have no complaints. Took about a week (1500km) to get rid of all the strong vibrations.. now there is just some little shake at very low rpm/gears. Im happy for them and the price.

Just get rotated tranny mounts and you'll be fine, powell or zzp is your best bet

why do they call it a rotated mount? im not familiar with after market mounts at all. i know the mount that holds the motor from the bottom, twords the front of the car may possibly need to be replaced..its torn.

it rotates the motor so the axle shafts are straight. Many threads on it. afaik know Zoomer never embraced the original Powell rotated concept and so his mounts may not be, unless he saw the light. Ya never know.

nothing to do with that. although lowering does increase the horizontal shaft angle.

quote from threads on this subject I have contributed to:
"The reason behind the mounts is to stop power hop, caused in part by too much angle in the cv joint. The manual shift cars are not positioned in line axle out put to knuckle center line. To fix this, the mounts rotate the motor up at the back, down at the front, to move the axle out put shafts in better alignment with the axle output flange at the knuckle. The rotation was developed and engineered with help from GM, when I was under contract to produce Cobalt road race cars in 2004/2005."

Awesome info. I never did quite understand the entire premise behind the rotated mounts.

the delta was laid out as an automatic. The SAAB based F35 (F55/57 on a SAAB) had slightly different axle inboard position; engineers didn't think it would make much difference,as the CV shafts have a good range of travel. And in normal driving conditions its okay pretty much.

except when you hammmer down....

or it rains....

I've got some new ZZP mounts (front and rear) if you're looking to buy for cheaper than new. I installed them, but didn't see a difference other than vibration sounds in the cabin so I just put the OEM ones back on.
