Had a cobalt in the garage since 05. Been an amazing car quality wise. Of course you buy a modded LNF you get what you get.

Mandatory on the SS/SC along with rotated mounts.

With the OTTP stage 2 mounts and the Ingalls car was a beast at grabbing asphault and not hopping wheels.

This car wasn't modded per se, it was neglected.

My CAI is steel and the underside of it was all covered in rust. Inside is clean, but I will be replacing this at some point. Pretty shitty part if it spends its short life in FLA and is covered in rust.
When you get the big turbo on you will want a larger better flowing intake tube anyway. You could do a custom 3.5-4" SRI (4" intake would be best with the S-259) because you will have the MAF relocated.

It worked on my car up until S2+.

Just a S1 rotated mount with rear SS/TC mount is best.

Thoughts on tires.

I have 18x8 +35mm wheels wrapped in 235/40/18 Nitto NT555r's. Two of them are shot (lol FWD burnouts). Anyways, I was thinking of putting a really aggressive tire on them and chucking them on the front. Thoughts? Recommendations? It would still be a daily tire so is it even worth it?

Meh. Personal experience here and I find the Ingalls, stock TAM, OTTP stage 2 mounts w/ solid bushings (rubber) to be the best.
Just a stage 1 mount and LNF rear was still a little soft and allowed more movement

Meh, thats over kill imo.

I have no problem gettin the power I make to the ground, and I rarely if ever have wheel hop.

but what ever u feel is best for your car is fine.

I run a boost cut in 1st gear of 50% and it goes straight to 100% boost in second. My mount set up really helped kill that wheel hop.

Which mean you dont have that hard torque from the sudden ramp.

I had it set up with no boost reduction and found that I ended up with better launches have the cut on it.

As long as the mounts are rotated and have quality bushings you should be fine. I have a powell front and an ottp rear with a powell insert, debating about getting a zzp upper engine mount when I swap turbos. I've had the zzp engine mount before waaaaay back before rotated mounts and it helped some with hop, but the vibes were craaaaaazy. Currently, I have balance shaft deletes with solid front/rear mounts so it's already kinda vibe friendly but just want the most stability when pushing the car that hard with the swap so we'll see.

A solid TAM wont account for the rotation of the rotated mounts.

I understand, my mounts are rotated, but I replaced the torn ottp bushing(~2months) with a quality insert from powell.

KY sent my clutch. It will be here Wednesday.

Only part left is my knuckle from Mongo.
Will be driving this car next week.

Possible buyer for my 06 SS.
He has 4k to put down. Anyone know where I should direct him to get a 3500 loan on it. Banks wont do it because of the age of the car.
