Question Need a replacement intercooler

I put a hole in my intercooler by hitting a dip in a dirt parking lot, now I need to replace it. Anybody have advice for this?

These ones on modernperformance look good, anyone had experience with these?
Intercoolers & Pressure Piping

I dont really know how much I should expect to spend, I want at least a little better than stock so I can leave room for expansion in the future.

ZZPerformance - LNF Front Mount Intercooler #ZZ-LNFFMIC
Standard or short

OR

Cobalt 2.0 Performance

OR

Intercoolers & Pressure Piping - MPx Intercooler 08-10 Cobalt SS Turbo

All priced $350, I'm wondering how big of a difference there is between standard and short zzp cores
why is the Hahn so cheap compared to what it used to be and its length is 26.5 in (shorter than stock) and if 8 in tall is gonna be too low for me seeing as how I already trashed the stock one, I need it to be able to clear the speed tables (giant speed bumps) on base since I drive there everyday
... and I really dont wanna wait til after 31Dec for the Mpx since theyre back ordered but then again maybe thats just a sign that they make a really good core and wirth waiting for if everyone is buying it. Idk... decisions decisions

Is it the standard one or the short one for more clearance, and why did u go with the pwerks one instead?
And how would I pay for it?

I have the TR-8 beta kit. You would have to seriously ** up to hit it.

Same thing happened to me this summer. I decided to go with ZZP's extra clearance IC and am quite happy I did. Its def a well made IC and price is very reasonable as well.

I went with Pwerks because I have a very close relationship with Dave (the owner) and Matt from Pwerks...lol
As for the second part I believe that it is the shorter one, I am lowered on SSC's and it doesn't hit or anything like that.
You would pay me thru PayPal and then I would ship!

All of the ones reccomended here are way better than OEM. There are a ton of IC comparison threads. The only time you should buy something from someone on here is if they have it for sale in the FS section and they have a pic of their item with their userID and name. The guy with the ZZP one may have a FS thread. I didn't look. Another thing to consider is warranty. ZZP has a 1 year warranty. It might be a good idea to pay full price for a new one with a warranty rather than saving 50 bucks on a used one.

The zzp intercooler has the BEST mounting setup, hands down. It was specifically designed for this car. It is not some generic core design that was just fitted to this car. The mpx intercooler head some mounting issues and head the incorrect piping sizes when it first came out. Not sure of any of that has changed.

+1, Hhan claims you get a 20HP gain "somthing you can feel". Is this the case with the ZZP intercooler as well? Do you really gain HP you can feel with an intercooler replacement (along with the hot & cold piping).?

Good question cause I want to know too. They say with the ZZP intercooler you gain 21WHP and 30wtq.

The claims Hahn made are crap. Putting an IC on your car is never going to result in a seat-of-the-pants feeling. The stock IC is pretty efficient and large: it just had crappy plastic end-tanks on it. You won't see any power gain with the stock turbo, but you'll have a huge increase in reliability and toughness.

Thanks for the info! Anyone else can confirm this?
