new owner with some questions about brakes and offsets

So I've done a lot of searching but I can't seem to find an exact answer to my questions so I thought I'd just start a new thread in hope that someone smarter than me could help me out.

First, I'm having issues with my rear brakes, which seems to be a common problem. My pads are wearing unevenly and my hand brake doesn't work even if I tighten the nut down as far as it can go. I've heard that just getting after market pads can fix the problem. I've also heard that it's the pins in the calipers. I've also heard I might need new calipers all together. What is the most likely solution?

My other question is about wheels. I'm looking to get some knew wheels and I'm a little confused about offsets in order to clear the brembos. I don't really want to run a spacer. One wheels I'm looking at is 18x8.5 with a 35mm offset. With a 235/40r18, would I have issues clearing brembos or rubbing anywhere?

Here's the wheel in question: Miro Wheels Type 111 Machined Silver - 18" 5x110 - FM-Wheels.com

I'm also looking at these wheels which can be ordered in a custom fitment. Anyone have an idea on what kind of fitment I should oeder them in to fit the car. They would also be 18x8.5 with 235/40r18.

Here's the other wheel: Klutch Wheels SL14 Silver Machined - 18" 5x108 - FM-Wheels.com

Thanks in advance!

You need new rear calipers.

First set of wheels might work. Second I really doubt. With our cars it's the face of the caliper that his the rear of most spokes.

If I needed to buy new rear calipers, should I go aftermarket to avoid the problem again or just buy the oem calipers? And darn, I was really hoping it may just be the pins. I've read that the problem happens because they weren't greased up enough from the factory.

I don't know if aftermarket is any better than OEM.

The ebrake on our cars is built into the caliper. Once it fails you need to replace them. On the new calipers just keep the pins greased.

That makes sense. Thanks for the help.

I agree on replacing rear calipers. The issue of sticking pads was early on and should have been taken care of by now by changing the brakes. Im assuming the brakes were done on the car you bought at least once.

First set will clear. The 2nd set is doubtful.

You need new calipers pads and rotors. The oem stuff works best

I figured the second set would work as I saw them on this cae.

I'd just have to figure out what the perfect offset to make them fit would be.

Then they might. I wonder what the offset is or if he needs spacers.
